Salamun Alaykum, Subject: Important Updates for September We pray you are well. This post is intended to provide you with important information regarding the reopening of the school in September Inshallah.... Based on guidance from the Ministry of Education, it seems that we will most likely be able to have our students back in class this September, learning through conventional delivery with school operating on a full-time basis. In the light of continuing uncertainty about public health risks, as a school we have prepared for: Normal school day routine with enhanced public health protocols. Maintaining the use of Google Classroom, which will be updated on a daily basis with regular lessons learned in class posted on the online platform. Developing a new plan for enhanced online learning in the case of reclosure of Ontario schools by the government due to COVID-19. As a school, we are able to adapt to the Ministry of Education guidelines through the following: Our classroom sizes enable us to maintain a limit of 15 students in a classroom at a time. Develop procedures that support general physical distancing such as: spreading students into different areas, using visual cues (like tape on the floor, corridors), scheduling recess in small groups, and performing physical education outside when weather permits. Limit the number of parents and visitors inside the school by requiring visits to be scheduled by appointment only and following safety procedures upon their arrival through wearing masks and proper sanitization. Labelling all personal belongings that will be kept in each student’s designated area. All students will be asked to bring their own supplies, where sharing materials will not be permitted. Providing all students with their own devices at a minimal annual rental fee. These devices will be used for assessments and extra resources to limit paper distributions. Lunch and prayer time will be held individually in each class. With our current number of students, we will have openings for new registrations until the maximum number of students per class is reached. The registration will be open during the month of July by appointments only. Please note that this plan will be executed as long as schools are permitted to operate and is subject to change if circumstances change.
