A tiny concert on a hot summer night at Pat Temples repurposed church performance space. Doing our best at keeping up with the Covid 19 challenges. I hope you enjoy!

Just a reminder that this coming Saturday afternoon (Aug 15) from 2:00-5:00, the PMBA is putting on our first live music show since last February at Dr. J's BBQ... and Brews. It’s being hosted by Al Black and the Steady Band. If you’ve heard them before, you know they’re excellent! If you haven’t, you are in for a treat! A reminder that this is a private event with reserve seating only. To reserve a table, you need to eTransfer payment for a table of four ($80) or six ($120). As of today, THERE ARE ONLY TWO TABLES LEFT - a four person, and a six person. To book one of the remaining tables, Etransfer to [email protected] You must have a mask to enter the patio area and for anytime you enter the building to use the washrooms. Servers are wearing masks, and the band’s vocalists will have individual mic shields. We all want to enjoy live music again, and support our local musicians through your cover fee, but our number one priority is to keep everyone safe. We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of our supportive music community. Thank you soooo much! NOTE: A couple people have still not sent in contact information for their table. It’s imperative that you do so before Saturday. Thank you.

Greetings to all of our PMBA supporters and local musicians. We hope you are doing well in these turbulent times. The PMBA Board would like to thank everyone w...ho has donated through cheque or E Transfer over the past 4 months. It has really helped out our local musicians while they were not able to play gigs. Many of you have donated more than once and your generosity is just so heartwarming and very much appreciated. With Peterborough now part of Ontario's Phase 3 opening,The PMBA has been working on a safe way to restart our Deluxe Blues Jams. We believe we have come up with an idea and are happy to be able to offer a musical event at Dr Js on the 3rd Saturday of August (15th) starting at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. We are not able to go back to the way things were at this point so please understand that the safety of the musicians, DrJs staff and you is our first priority. We will be featurIng Al Black and the Steady Band as our host band. Rumour has it that someone in the band may be celebrating a momentous birthday. At this point we are unable to accommodate Jammers due to safety concerns. We are hoping to get back to our regular shows sometime in the future. The show will take place outdoors on DrJ's patio which has been enlarged to encompass almost the entire parking lot. Please note there will be no parking on site. In order to comply with restrictions we will not be able to have a Donation Jar nor will we be able to offer our silent auction. For our show to pay the band and raise some money for local musicians we have added a $20.00 cover charge. DrJs table arrangement is in distanced groups of 4 per table ($80) or 6 per table ($120). We ask that one individual purchase the table and invite friends who are in your bubble. It is possible to purchase a table for 4 ($80) and only seat 2 people but we require full payment for the table to make the event viable. Each table has an umbrella and most are picnic style. The law states that all patrons must be seated so we will be limited to roughly 76 guests. Pre-payment will be required via E transfer to ([email protected]) on a first come first serve basis. In order to simplify payment we ask that one person send the full amount for each table grouping and settle up with your guests later. We will require contact information for your group for tracing purposes including name, address and phone number of each guest. Please provide this in the message section of the E Transfer or by separate email to the above address. We hope to sell out before the show and will not be selling tickets the day of the event. In addition please be aware of the following: Entry to the patio area is on the Aylmer St side of the parking lot, not through the front door. DrJ's staff will be taking everyone's temperature with a hand held device prior to entrance. You will require a mask to access the washrooms located inside DrJs and as a courtesy if you are standing up and moving around. Please also be aware of the 2 metre rule outside of your group. You will not require a mask while sitting at your table. The tables are spaced according to regulations. Peterborough County Health Unit has stipulated that dancing or singing along is not allowed but you can dance in your chair and lip sync. Tables are not assigned by name so you will pick the table by availability when you arrive. There is no self-serve alcohol, only sales through servers who will be wearing masks. It is up to you to maintain physical distancing outside of your guest bubble at all times. We know that this sounds like a lot but it is the only way we can have live music with a large group of friends and raise money for musicians. They have had a very difficult time and are still suffering. They need your support. Thank you from the PMBA. Please share with your Facebook friends.

Peterborough Musicians Benevolent Association - PMBA Published by Norm Kastner 1 hr Hello friends. We hope this message finds you all in good health and sp...irits. The PMBA Board has been following developments of the Coronavirus outbreak closely and discussing what role we can play to help our local musicians during these difficult times. Please understand that our resources are limited however and we cannot realistically help every musician who has had gigs cancelled. At this time we would like to direct funds to those who have no other source of income or savings and will need help with the basic necessities of life. These are early days and the situation may continue for an extended period of time. We are proceeding cautiously. If you are aware of a local musician or are a local musician who has no where else to turn please message our Facebook page or contact a PMBA Board Member if you are unable to use Facebook. Some of you have asked about donating to the PMBA while the Jams are postponed. You can forward donations to the PMBA c/o: Norm Kastner 4509 County Rd 29, Douro-Dummer, Ontario K0L 2H0. (please be advised that we do not provide tax receipts) We also encourage you to purchase merchandise from local musicians and donate to Kawartha Foodshare. We will consider a "Go Fund Me" campaign in lieu of our monthly Jams should the situation worsen. Please reach out to our local musicians and let them know you care and are thinking about them. Thank you friends. PMBA Board

Dear Friends, some of you have been inquiring about the upcoming Jackson Delta concert set for Saturday, April 11 at The Market Hall Performing Arts Centre. We ...are presently, and for the next while, maintaining a holding pattern. We are not formally cancelling since no one knows how or when we will get to the other side of this Covid 19 situation. If the show needs to be cancelled and rescheduled please retain your ticket. Consider it admission for a new concert date but also an investment in Jackson Delta, The Market Hall and your music community. Whether we play on the 11th or at a later date, you will get our best show ever. We promise to keep you all updated. Be safe and be kind to each other. See more
