At the foot of Burrard St., throngs of Vancouverites spilled out along Burrard St to enjoy the Fireworks presentation @ 12:00 am: 2019 New Years morning. Jack Poole Plaza was filled with revellers bringing in 2019!
30th Anniversary of the Chanukah Menorah Lighting took place in front of the entrance to the main branch (Brighouse) Richmond Public Library, Minoru Gate, Richmond, BC, December 2nd, 2018. This white powder coated extruded aluminium Menorah is lit each of the 8 days of Chanukah, powered by propane. One branch of the Menorah is lit on the first day of Chanukah. Each day afterwards an additional branch is lit. On the 8th day of Chanukah all branches are lit. The Menorah was designed by Arthur Erikson and constructed by Ebco Industries in Richmond, BC over 30 years ago. A celebration was held for parents and children inside the Richmond Public Library with "Potato Latkes and Jelly Donuts" were enjoyed by all. A series of presentations by various individuals which included the Mayor of Richmond, Malcolm Brodie.
The 8th day of Chanukah Menorah Lighting took place, December 9th, in front of the entrance way to the Richmond Public Library. The 25ft extruded white powder coated aluminum Menorah, was designed by Arthur Erikson over 30 years ago. The is the 30th year Celebration of the Lighting of the Chanukah Menorah in Richmond. After the lighting a celebration with inspired Mediterranean cuisine was held at the Bayit Synagogue in Richmond, BC
What a fabulous Chanukah Party! We welcomed hundreds of people and the Mayor of Vancouver Kennedy Stewart and Chief of Staff Neil Monckton. Both floors of the Kollel were filled with Chanukah Music (thank you Michael Fraser), delicious Chanukah food (Thank you Maple Grill Restaurant & Catering), Dreidel play and Chanukah spirited dancing filled the Community Kollel in Vancouver, B.C.
An exciting evening of buying and selling between 1st Candadian Barter members and guests at the Khana Banquet Hall. Inspired East Indian cuisine was prepared by the Khana Banquet chef and Staff. Barter and cash dollars were exchanged for various products and services. Suki and Amber Kular directors of Barter First Hosted a successful Holiday Trade Show. Musical Entertainment was provided by a Barter Member DJ, and XL vocalist, a.k.a,Jas Mundy. XL covered the 70s, 80's "Gold" music greats!
