Catching some big chinook in the sound! Beautiful spring day out here.

We’re back! Out on Barkley Sound for a 3 day trip with another amazing group. Enjoying the coast, fishing and prawning, and cooking up the catch. So good to be booking again! This is the life.

With covid its a time for maintenance. Tried cleaning the deck after having it serviced at CME. Ground in steel dust from their shop boots rusted into my deck and turned it a rusty shade. Tried various cleaners until it was explained. You would think they cared but they don't and will even tell you so. Looking forward to a freshly painted deck when it stops raining. Installing dedicated GPS for the auto pilot on the fly bridge. We lost direction in a snow storm last year. Still had the main compass, old reliable. GPS went down 20 - 30 seconds at a time in the blizzard. This should help tracking fishing routes more precisely too. Most marine disasters are maintenance related. A good well maintianed boat can handle much more than a person can.

If the boat launch is clear, we'll be fishing. If the boat launch isn't clear, we'll be shoveling.
