The Alberta Aviation Museum is still open Thursday - Sunday with advance timed-entry tickets available for sale at www.albertaaviationmuseum.com. Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 numbers and growing concerns towards protecting the health and safety of our volunteers, the museum will be suspending restoration and library volunteer activities until December 1st. Although work will be temporarily halted, patrons will still be able to catch a glimpse of our restoration projects on Thursdays and Saturdays (dependent on interpreter availability).

Contributions to our #GivingTuesday2020 Campaign help towards managing our collection. As the stewards of over 90 years of Blatchford history, stories, and artifacts, financial support is key in helping to preserve and display over 9,500 artifacts and 298,000 historic photographs in our collections. Many hours of work go towards ensuring that every museum visit is a whole new experience. Donations greatly propels this momentum forward. https://www.albertaaviationmuseum.com/donate-now/

Remembrance Day 2020 As you know, 2020 has been an interesting year in terms of events and celebrations. In order to safeguard the health and safety of its participants and keeping with city gathering restrictions, the 700 Wing Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at the museum hangar will not be taking place this year. That said, the museum will still be taking steps to acknowledge the soldiers and airmen who have made the ultimate sacrifice in an online format.... On November 11th, be sure to tune in on the museum’s Facebook page where we will be hosting online group viewing sessions of local Remembrance Day services, as well as stories from Blatchford Field. Itinerary of Digital Events Hosted on our Facebook Page (Links to be Posted Next Week) 10:30 am 11:20 am: Group viewing of the Beverly Cenotaph 100th Remembrance Day Ceremony. 12:00pm 12:30pm: Group viewing of select stories from Blatchford part of our ongoing oral history project. The museum will be open to the public on Remembrance Day from 10:00am 5:00 pm with admission by donation. Limited admission tickets are available online at www.albertaaviationmuseum.com.

The Alberta Aviation Museum is saddened to hear the news of a true pioneer in aviation. Our museum's narrative heralds many tales of Max's involvement in championing air service in Canada and The North. A genuine soul. Our thoughts are with his family. https://www.cbc.ca//cana/north/max-ward-obituary-1.5788258
