Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the staff and birds at the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre! While this year has not been easy, your continued support towards our conservation efforts have been truly heartwarming. We wish you all the best for 2021, and can’t wait to see you again soon!
This garden owl from our gift shop made it all the way to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories! Thank you to the Dunbar family for sharing. We would love to see how your souvenirs fit into your space. Please feel free to share a photo below!
And just like that, the 2020 season comes to a close! It was a short but sweet season - we are so grateful for the support we received this summer! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to visit, we hope to see you next summer!
Some Thursday action! We are heading into our final weekend of the season. Last chance to come visit until next spring!
Did you know we are hiring? Check out our two job postings on our website: Admin Assistant (Part time, year round) and High School Trainee (Summer, Full time). http://www.burrowingowl.com/newsevents/news15.php
Lincoln loves getting showered on hot summer days, and check out that nictitating membrane! This inner eyelid protects the eye, while still allowing them to see their prey because it is transparent. Birds are not the only species with a nictitating membrane! Did you know that species of amphibians, sharks, and some mammals have one too?
