The ACAO Registration Committee is looking for a volunteer to join their Committee. This Committee meets virtually once every quarter and works on regulatory and registration related business. If you have been thinking of volunteering with the ACAO, working on a committee is a great way to get involved. You'll have an opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the College and the Council and support the ACAO mandate to protect the public by effectively regulating Alberta opticians. If you think you might be interested in volunteering or have any questions about this opportunity, email [email protected]. Deadline for submissions: December 1, 2020.
Reminder: Your Council wants to hear from you! Don't forget to fill out the ACAO's 2020 membership survey. The survey was sent via email on November 2 and includes questions to help us better understand the ACAO's members, including your opinions about the opticianry profession, and about the ACAO as both a regulatory college and professional association. This is an opportunity to share your views with the Council and shape the future of the organization! As a thank you to me...mbers, the ACAO is offering each respondent a $10 discount on the entrance fee for the 2021 Annual General Meeting and Continuing Education Sessions and will conduct a random prize draw from completed survey responses to provide one member with complimentary registration for the 2021 registration year (maximum value of $1000). The survey will close on November 30, 2020 at 11:59 pm Thank you for your participation, we look forward to hearing from you!

Are you a woman who has considered serving on a board, either for our organisation or for another, but found the barriers to entry challenging? Do you have an interest in leadership but lack the confidence to pursue it? "DirectHer Network is a women-led not-for-profit dedicated to empowering Albertan women with the tools and support necessary to serve on boards. DirectHer was founded in 2019 in response to watching an overwhelming number of capable women self-select out of leadership opportunities thinking they didn’t perfectly satisfy 100% of the application criteria."
