Pink Shirt Day Promotes Kindness over Bullying Bullying, harassment, intimidation, belittling, shaming, discrimination... it takes many forms. It is one of the most prevalent hurtful behaviours and least spoken about experiences in our schools, workplaces and communities. The results can be devastating, including severe mental health illness and even suicide among those who are targeted. #PinkShirtDay2021 aims to change our culture of acceptance by silence to send the messa...ge that as a community we will not tolerate any form of bullying or harassment. The Canadian Institutes for Health Research reports: - One in three adolescent students and as many adults say they have been bullied. - 7% of adult Internet users in Canada report experiencing cyber-bullying at some point in their life - 40% of Canadian workers experience bullying on a weekly basis If you experience bullying, contact: - 24 hour Bullying Help Line 1-888-456-2323 for adults or kids - Bullying Canada call or text 1-877-352-4497 or email [email protected] for kids For resources and information, including contacts to report bullying, check out the Government of Alberta website.

The Honourable Nate Glubish Ministry of Service Alberta We look forward to a renewed opportunity to meet and discuss our collective vision to champion the auction industry, and reduce red tape that not only adds protection for buyers and sellers, but will save time, money and resources, while upholding fiscal accountability, and boost Alberta’s competitiveness in the auction industry.... #auctioneer #auctions #onlineauctions #advocacy #governmentrelations

If we were to pivot, and take our courses on line, to a virtual platform, ‘Would you attend?’. How much would you be willing to invest for a 2 1/2 hour on-line education and information session? What day of the week, or time of day would work best for you?... Want to be part of the conversation? Send me a message @ [email protected].

I was looking for something entirely different when I came across this, but made me stop and reflect on the importance of policies & procedures. What processes do you have in place to vet the items or animals you consign for auction? https://www.google.ca//2a0c1c1a-52f3-4988-9efa-d95691/amp/

Are you considering using a timed online auction format? The Auctioneers Association recommends to ONLY use licensed and bonded auction companies when seeking online auctions. Today the format of timed online auction is unregulated. Currently the Auctioneers Association of Alberta is working with the government of Alberta to better standardize and regulate online auctions. The goal of the Association is to have all timed auctions be required to be bonded and licensed in the same manner as public auctions are regulated.

With all the uncertainty in 2020, we've been asked what are some of the legal requirements or standards when it comes to contracts or obligations for auctions? Contract law of Alberta states that the persons must be competent, of legal age, understand recognized Canadian language formats, the specific dates of the agreement, and all pertinent information or stipulations. The only way a signed contract can be altered or canceled is by agreement of all parties.
