The Foundation lost an old and wonderful friend yesterday. Country 105 : Calgarys Country Scott Phillips passing is a painful loss that is being felt by so many today his loving family of which he was so, so proud, his beloved Country 105 family, the radio community, the Calgary community and of course his friends at the Foundation who loved him so much, too. It was our privilege and our joy to work alongside Scott since the very first Radiothon hit the airwaves in 2003, ...up until his retirement last year. He played a massive role in building the Country 105 Caring for Kids Radiothon into the much-loved community event it is today. One of the reasons for this, and as his dear friend and colleague Robyn Adair puts it, He always managed to sound like everyones best friend on the radio because thats exactly who he was. Scott loved Radiothon and he loved the kids and families he sat down with during the 16 years he honoured their stories. Radiothon was gut-wrenching to him, Scott would tell us, and then he would make sure we knew it was the achievement in his career of which he was the most proud. We will miss our friend. We will remember him. And we will never forget what he has done for our kids and families.

We just want to give big, virtual hugs to all the event organizers, businesses and bidders who made our Summer Auction such a success for kids and families who rely on the hospital. Together we are changing lives!

We are so in awe of Chris Kochs determination to help kids and families at the Alberta Childrens Hospital. "As a kid, I was at the Childrens Hospital quite often for prosthetics as well as other things related to my disability. I also have some family and close friends who have benefited from the amazing work thats being done there." Over the last few days, Chris has run 5 km, then 10 km, then 21.1 km (half marathon), followed by a FULL 42.2 km marathon run on Sunday. ... So far in Alberta, about 1,000 children have tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, their symptoms have been milder, with only eight requiring hospitalization.
