Thank you to all our members for being respectful and spread the word to new hunters, always ask permission!
Check out the smile of this new hunter! Congrats to Natalie from Beaver River Fish and Game Association, her Mom Lisa sent us this pic and let us know that 'our daughter Natalie successfully took down this doe at 60 yrds, arm braced on a tree for shooting support. Clean shot and the doe fell right there. This was her very first time harvesting an animal, and luck have it on the 2nd day of hunting season. Looks to be an exciting start to a new generation of hunters in our family.' We hope everyone has a great, and successful, weekend!
While the season may be over, we've had some great harvesting stories from our members, including Jim Taylor from Calgary Fish and Game who shares: Hunting this year was a special bond for 3 of us. It was the first year my 14 year old Grandson, Oakland, was able to get out into the field. His Uncle & my son also got to spend 4 days with us as well. The last 15 minutes of the day a decent buck showed up from behind the blind the 3 of us were sitting in. Oaks had fallen asleep... and only woke up just before my son pulled the trigger. The first shot was great. The deer was hit hard but didn’t go down. He 1/2 walked 1/2 trotted to trees but then turned around and started walking back towards us. My son hit him again and he went down. 175 and 250 yards respectful and to boot, my son’s first ever Whitetail buck. Congratulations to the Taylor family!
