Flo is a featured presenter at the Alberta Herb Gathering 2020

Jeananne Laing, ClH of Lodgepole School is our latest confirmed presenter! She is known around Calgary for her work in cannabis education. Through her Enhealthment programs Jeananne helps others regain and maintain health through the use of herbal remedies, nutrition, and lifestyle hacking. Jeananne is excited to now include counselling on legal medical cannabis as a powerful healing tool for her clients. She is a Cannabis Educator at Harvest Medicine Clinic in Calgary and ...frequently speaks on various aspects of cannabis and other herbal medicines. In 2017 Jeananne completed the Clinical Cannabinoid Medicine program at TMCI Global, The Medical Cannabis Institute and LIFT's Retail Cannabis Training course. She studied nutrition at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, completing the Health Coaching Program in 2014. Jeananne completed the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing Clinical and Master Herbalist diploma in 2006 under the direction of Dr. Terry Willard, PhD.

Herbalist Elder Flo Lavallie will bring her 40+ years of experience as a healer and activist to the Alberta Herb Gathering in 2020! Flo Lavallie has been in private practice for over 30 years in Saskatoon, along with that she had a satellite practice in Humboldt for 17 years. Prior to that, Flo had a satellite practice in Duck Lake for two years. After working in a hospital setting for 14 years, Flo obtained her Master Herbalist Diploma at the Wild Rose College in Calgary, A...lberta. She is a certified Reflexologist, Sclerology, Rayid, Iridologist, Ear Candler and Kinisiologist, having studied with Dr. Spiro Lenis. Flo’s approach to healing transcends conventional boundaries as she works with: individuals, families, organizations, and communities. Her healing is not limited to medical clinics. Flo takes her work into churches, schools, private homes, and community centers as well as hospitals and clinics. Flo is a constant reminder that true holistic healing goes beyond the individual to healing the system. 2014-15 Native American Artist-in-Residence Jessica Gokey (Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe) was inspired by the beadwork in our collections and... the revitalization of indigenous foods to create this table accent. With over 25 different flowers, berries and plants from the Great Lakes area, the table accent represents the many traditions of Native American people in the region. Jessica’s statement about piece: I was really inspired by Sean’s [Sean Sherman, the Sioux Chef] mission as a chef using indigenous foods, and I wanted to make a piece that celebrates the nature that has helped sustain our people. The tablecloth I am creating incorporates nearly twenty plants, berries, and herbs that are indigenous to this region - many are the same regional foods that are used in Sean's dishes.
