Even during our recession, Albertans have contributed over $20 billion a year more to Confederation than we have received back. This year, Quebec has received $...13 billion more than it contributed from equalization alone. Their provincial government will have a budget surplus of $8.2 billion this year and $4 billion next year, cheap daycare and low university tuition, while Alberta will continue to have fat deficits even with the recent budget cuts. Albertans aren’t asking the rest of the country to fawn all over us, but a little understanding and gratitude for where the money comes from would be nice. #ableg #cdnpoli #abpoli
