Alberta Party 14.11.2020

From Acting Leader Jacquie Fenske today "Today we will hopefully hear directly from Premier Kenny. Albertans are anxious. Families are nervous and businesses are uncertain as to what to plan for. This is a time for leadership not only based on reasoned decisions but a time to clearly state why and what those reasons are. Avoidance has added to the anxiety. MLA’s must also demonstrate leadership in their constituencies. https://calgaryherald.com/.../breakenridge-kenney..."

From Acting Leader Jacquie Fenske "Tonight was the perfect example of why you want to be involved in the Alberta Party. We learned a lot more about the Hydrogen economy, the possibilities for not only trucking and heat, but how with just a little more training our daughters, sons, mothers and fathers who work in oil and gas can look forward to careers that will fuel our hydrogen economy. The possibility of the hydrogen boom similar to past oil booms is ours if we just get go...ing and get started. Australia has MOU s already signed. We need to be in the game and ready to sell by 2030. Governments need to move quickly. Oh, the possibilities for our future in Alberta! What’s next for the Alberta Party when it comes to Hydrogen Economy? Robert Tremblay, our Shadow Minister on renewable energy will be hosting strategy sessions. Get off your wallet and purchase your $10 membership and be a part of creating that strategy. I can’t really get across the excitement I have for the future for our province through printed words but believe me - get on the train. You too will be ‘over the moon’ excited. Here’s the link to purchase your membership. Then, sign up for some of the Zoom sessions (especially the hydrogen ones). www.albertaparty.ca https://www.facebook.com/100001174687254/posts/3408129465902843/

We're out in Ponoka talking to residents who feel like their government is destroying rural communities. The Alberta Party is here to listen to constituents and address their concerns.

This morning, October 26, 2020, some members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) walked off the job, undertaking a wildcat strike. This is a result of the Kenney government undertaking massive changes to Alberta Health Services (AHS) without proper consultation and without a willingness to compromise. Ministers Shandro and Toews are approaching our healthcare workers in bad faith. Their behaviour has made job action inevitable.... At the same time, they are constrained by the failure of the previous NDP government. It made far-reaching promises and didn't deliver on properly reforming and re-imagining AHS. Fundamentally this is a needless conflict, not over policy, but trust. Alberta is in a fiscal crisis. Healthcare costs need to be contained, and greater efficiency is needed. However, patient health and workers rights cannot be compromised. Our government needs to get to the bargaining table in good faith to find solutions to our problems that serve patients, workers, and taxpayers. The Alberta Party policy on health care is varied, and nuanced. What is most important, and how we would prevent labour strike like this, is built into our Party’s core values. Those values include The Alberta Party will include health care providers in the conversation to improve healthcare outcomes and efficiency. This core belief is why the Alberta Party provides a better way to do politics. https://www.albertaparty.ca/wildcat_ahs_strike

It's become clear across Alberta that the chaos and disrespect shown towards doctors by Minister of Health Tyler Shandro has no place in our politics let alone our province. We've been calling for his resignation in order to rebuild relations with Alberta's doctors since March (https://www.albertaparty.ca/minister_shandro_must_resign), and this editorial is evidence that the need for his resignation is immediate (https://edmontonjournal.com//editorial-time-for-a-new-heal). Help us let Kenney know that Shandro has to go by signing our petition: https://www.albertaparty.ca/kenney_shandro_go.

ICYMI: The Alberta Party is calling on the government to make critical changes to Bill 48. "Bill 48 has elements that the Alberta Party supports, primarily the liberalization of labour mobility. However, in the interests of open and transparent government, and in direct contradiction of democratic principles, this bill takes away the power of municipal leaders to make decisions and provide services that their constituents ask of them." The United States just approved an Alaska Alberta rail line project. The Alberta Party has been advocating for this for over a year, and it is an exciting development. We have so many resources that this can help get to a global market today and in the future. We call on Jason Kenney and the Alberta Government to make this rail line a priority. It will create jobs now, and it will play a key role in Alberta future prosperity. Read more about our idea here: https://www.albertaparty.ca/rail_line_to_alaska_just_makes_
