The Albertan student contingent at #IAC2019 took full advantage of all the photo ops the conference has to offer! The lightsabers and blow-up alien at the Nanoracks booth are a particular favourite
In a technical session at the world’s largest space conference, our talk about #exalta2’s deployable boom got lots of good questions and audience engagement! Also, great turnout for a Friday afternoon session. We’re proud of Deputy Project Manager Katelyn Ball's work at IAC 2019! #IAC2019
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Andrew Rooney Andrew is in his 3rd year of his BSc. Computer Engineering degree. He has been on AlbertaSat for 3 years now and is the Software Team Lead. What inspired Andrew to join AlbertaSat was the current project director; Callie. She persuaded him to join AlbertaSat during his first year of post-secondary. ... What has Andrew learned in his time at AlbertaSat: " I learned how to learn. I got the opportunity to do a summer research position for AlbertaSat where I learned embedded programming among so many other things. I also got to assemble the imager for the balloon imager in Ontario." What does Andrew want to go after graduation: " Whatever I do decide to go in, I want to make a difference for the world" What advice do you have for new members: " The most significant thing you can do is to show you genuinely want to be on the team. Its important to show you're committed. " Thanks for the insight Andrew! We cant wait to see what's next for you and AlbertaSat.
