Hello all, October was a great month for ASRAB. I want to share some positive news with you. Sight Night Virtual was a huge success! Sight Night is ASRAB’s largest fundraising event, which was obviously challenged due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. ASRAB members and staff and Sight Night volunteers boldly recreated Sight Night to be a virtual run, and in the end we had nearly 150 people sign up for the virtual event. Thank you all for your support!... ASRAB Re-launched! We have sport and recreation programs starting up in Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary. We will be looking to enhance our program options in the near future, under appropriate guidelines. ASRAB has been awarded a grant from the Government of Alberta to explore and develop mental health initiatives in conjunction with physical activity. This is a new direction for ASRAB, and a direction that we are certainly excited about. Stay tuned for more details! ASRAB has also been awarded a ‘Jumpstart’ grant from their Sport Relief Fund through the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. The grant will assist ASRAB to develop a systematic fundraising approach that includes fostering individual giving (donations), increasing potential corporate sponsorships, and innovating new special events for fundraising.
