Can I choose the number of embryos to be transferred? In most cases, you and your Intended Parents may choose the number of embryos that will be transferred. We strongly suggest single embryo transfers. Multiple embryo transfers often result in high-risk pregnancies putting you and the babies in danger.

What does the overall embryo transfer procedure look like for Surrogate Mothers? You can expect a quick and relatively painless procedure where your IVF doctor inserts the embryo(s) into your uterus with a small catheter. Your doctor may use a mild sedative or anesthesia to make the process more comfortable. An ultrasound may be used to ensure the embryos are safely inserted. You will remain in the recovery room for up to an hour following the embryo transfer. Depending on yo...ur doctor’s protocols you will require bed rest for up to 5 days following the transfer. If you are not local to the clinic you will rest at your hotel after the embryo transfer takes place. #surrogacy
