It has been a strange year for athletes, nothing new here! But, amidst all this, Canadian athletes packed their ski bags and flew to to take part in the World Championship @jwsc2021 having done no formal races this year! Today, we want to celebrate Calgary’s very own @foothills Nordic athlete - Tom Stephen who started World Championships with a 12th place! Congrats @xctom ! A win for everybody on the team.... Nice to see Revelstoke Mountaineer doing a feature on Academy athletes attending University of Calgary: Beth Granstrom and Elizabeth Elliott. They were recently selected to take part in the U23 World Championships. We love to help athletes combine high performance skiing and post-secondary education. Go Canada go!

Dahria Beatty and Maya MacIsaac-Jones were selected to take part in the World Cup events (period 3) Elizabeth Elliott, Beth Granstrom, Benita Peiffer (declined spot due to injury) and Annika Richardson will be taking part in the U23 Cross Country World Ski Championships in Finland. Nice to see @thomasmanktelow visiting a little while ago with his long time sponsor @mikewiegeleheli . Over the years, Mike has also worked with our team to bring awareness to avalanche safety. @mikewiegeleheli continues to be a force in the Heli-skiing tourism of Canada with over 1.5 million acres of terrain for skiing adventures.

This week-end our team did a Time Trial @canmore.nordiccentre, while respecting Alberta Health's restrictions. We put our race suits on and reminded our body, mind and hearts what it feels like to be in the pain cave. Thanks to @vr45photography for catching some of these moments! Looking forward to more of these TT as we simulate the racing schedule and keep ourselves ready to perform.
