Ear Tagging 2021 is complete! Yay! We had a staggering 16 new calves to add to our herd. 9 females and 7 males. An extra big thank you to our friends, Lochlan, Liam and Chelsea for coming to give us a hand. Pictures of the new additions will be coming soon. Until then, here a pic of the herd chilling after the tagging.

It's that time of year! Time to tag and name all the yak babies born in 2021, like these little guys We need your help. The designated letter for livestock born in 2021 is the letter "I". We need "I" names, and the more the better. Any suggestions?

What yaks do on an uncommonly hot, still, smoky August day, as most of them have been of late. They are all in superb flesh with shiny sleek summer coats, mo...st. Herd bull Jack Stove is in the centre of the first pic and in the bottom centre of the second lying down is his young greyish second in command, just introduced yesterday, Julius Stave. He will be breeding up a storm next year's rut. The one standing directly behind Stave with the beautiful curvature to his horns is one of our four-year old steers. The steers are the most aesthetic of all.
