Warning! Long post alert! I wonder if you’ll allow me to take a moment to acknowledge my dear husband. We’ve been through a lot this year and I want share some qualities in him that I deeply admire... Before March 16th of this year we were in an industry that built its business on a live, in-person, yoga membership model. This model allowed us to pay our teachers, our rent, the necessary bills and expenses related to studio ownership, and ourselves. ...Continue reading

Need to get out of the house to move or be still? Open Studio is your time! Starting next Monday, December 7th you’ll be able to come to Alchemy Yoga studio for your own self-led practice. With your $49/month membership you can watch a video from our yoga library on your device or anything else of your choosing, be it meditation, journaling or your own workout.... Sign up at least 1 hour in advance to attend, Jody or Kyle will be there to greet you and then the rest is up to you! The studio will be heated to 32 degrees during this time. There will be a QR code in the lobby that you can scan to bring up all of our yoga classes to watch on your device. If you would like to practice using your device you must bring headphones. We will be playing music in the studio should you wish to freely move. Many gyms and fitness studios are doing this right now while we're unable to offer group led classes. This is a way to allow you within the latest lockdown rules to mindfully move or meditate without the distractions that may be at home. It also helps with accountability, when you sign up for something you’re more likely to follow through. Masks are mandatory in the lobby, once you get onto your mat space they can be removed. The bathrooms will be closed and unavailable for use, including the toilets during these times. Head to Mindbody to see the Open Studio times and remember you must sign up to come, no drop in. See you soon!

30 Days of Hope You’ve likely heard the word mudra before in a yoga class, it means seal, or close in Sanskrit and is a symbolic gesture practiced with the hands. When we look at mudras through the lens of the Enneagram we find that each of the 9 types has a physical body presentation, or posture based on the passion for that type. ... Kyle and Jody show you theirs for their specific Enneagram types, and then we show you the invitation or the virtue that is sort of like the remedy, or counter pose to the passion mudra. We also attached a link to Jody’s teacher’s video, Uranio Paes where he shows the passion mudras for all 9 types. Can you spot your mudra? Let us know which one you might think is most like you! Working on our relationships during this pandemic is vitally important to our growth and our sense of Hope for ourselves and others. When we grow and examine ourselves we raise our vibration and that then has a ripple effect on the collective. If you’re curious about the Enneagram, Jody is offering 45 minute sessions via zoom for all our $49 clients as a special thank you for sticking by us during this time!

As we celebrate Jody’s birthday today we’re reminded of the importance of good friends; how vitally important they are to our mental health and how they add to the overall quality of our lives. With so many plans being canceled and so much uncertainty surrounding us, our friends can be beautiful anchors for us at this time. Investing in each other is important, staying connected and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with those around us can be an essential part of our self care. A big thank you to all of you who have gifted us with your friendship this year! And an extra special thank you to the ladies who have supported and inspired Jody this year with their time, wisdom and encouragement, love you guys! #30daysofhope #alchemyyogacochrane
