Aldergrove Food Bank

THANK YOU to our Langley RCMP for putting on a hugely successful Fundraiser on Thursday. Freshco donated hot dogs and drinks and more than 100 donors gave groceries and cash to support the Food Bank. We are especially grateful to Sgt. Kurt Neuman for organizing this event, and for the many years he gave serving our local community.

Yesterday, April 21, we received a huge donation from the Aldergrove Rotary Club who brought in $1500 worth of gift cards, valued at $25 each, so struggling families could shop at Save-on Foods or Otter Co-op. We gave out the cards in proportion to the size of the family. There will be another $1500 contributed through a matching grant, which should be received in about a month. Thank you so much!

The Food Bank is OPEN for grocery distribution as usual. Tuesdays from 11:30am to 2:00pm. NB: Check this site should the COVID-19 force us to close.

At the Aldergrove Food Bank, as with any charity, we welcome donations from businesses, churches, schools and individuals. We stock a variety of foods and other essentials for our clients but sometimes we get very low on certain items. Please check this site from time to time as our needs may change. If you would like to assist us, the following would be most appreciated: canned meat or fish, canned vegetables or fruit, sugar, coffee, tea, powdered milk, cooking oil, toilet ...paper, women's hygiene products, shampoo, deodorant, dish soap, (Dawn, Ivory, etc.) laundry soap (liquid or powder) and pet food. We will break down and ziploc large bags of sugar, coffee, tea or powdered milk, so large sizes are wonderful. Liquid items cannot be broken down, so it is best to purchase small sizes that can go to more people. Please also date-check your donations. Just as you would not be happy to be given a can of fruit that is way past its "best before" date, we want to be respectful of our clients and give them the same courtesy. Donations can only be received on the first four Tuesdays of each month (there are five Tuesdays in 4 months each year). Our volunteers can receive your goods after 8:30am and preferably before 11:00am. We would LOVE to have you drop by for a visit to see for yourself how people in the Aldergrove area are being helped. Our facility is abuzz with happy activity and you'll be glad you came!

Thanks for checking out our Aldergrove Food Bank site. We are a charitable organization in downtown Aldergrove that distributes food to those in need. We are open to the public on Tuesdays from 11:30am to 2:00pm. Soup and sandwiches are also served in cafeteria style from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
