Holiday Mini SessionsBehind the scenes Hey, guys! Under this picture of me and my family I want to share with you my experience with doing these mini sessions. It may seem that photography job is easy and I am making a lot of money, but guess what! I am not About a month ago.. I was thinking... It might be expensive for people to hire a photographer and rent a studio (It would be ~$300-350 in total) to do some Christmas photos of their family. I decided to do a set up ...at my home and lower my price from $250 to $100 so people can afford it and brighten up coronavirus pandemic with Christmas spirit So.. my family and I spent 2 weeks preparing this set up..moving furniture, going to stores.. and doing test shoots (swipe left to see ). The money that we spent is: $400 Christmas tree, $20 bench, $70 pillows, $300 lights, $350 Studio light, $45 blankets, $150 Christmas ornaments and other props. Total expenses ~$1400 I had 5 mini sessions last month ($600) and 7 mini sessions this month ($850). Total revenue $1450 *** My profit $50 Yes, all this set up is mine now, but will you be happy if someone gives you Christmas props for two month of work? And yes, it’s not just half an hour for a mini session. I usually spend 1-2 hours just editing photos. Not to mention the time to spent on emails, messages, Instagram, sending pictures for selection, doing PDF document with all details, cleaning and preparing studio for each session etc. I always give all unedited photographs, so people can choose from 150-300 photos the ones that they want. So, when I get messages from some people saying $100 for only 10 photos?, the studio seems small or just half an hour of session? I am frustrated. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience and I am grateful to all my families who trusted me to capture their holiday photos this year!!! Ideas for those who are planning on having a winter wedding #ForClients So you’ve decided on tying the knot in winter and you’re contemplating themes. I love winter weddings , and I think that nothing beats a classic all-white theme so, if you can’t guarantee snow, why not have a beautiful white winter wedding day? Here are a couple of ideas to get you started! 1. Where to Have a Winter Wedding?... Look for an inn with a fireplace for an intimate winter wedding. For a larger affair, you may be able to use a historic mansion or private club that will still have intimate warmth. Unless you're getting married in a state that will have guaranteed snow during your wedding date, avoid a room that has a large picture window. You may imagine drifts of beautiful snow, and end up with a gray rainy day. 2. Decor for Your Winter Wedding Decorate your tables with simple and inexpensive white poinsettias, or fill the room with light by arranging pillar candles on a bed of pine branches at the after-Christmas sales, stock up on strands of small white lights, then string them decoratively around doorways, over tables, and on archways. Bright red cranberries in a bowl surrounding floating candles make an easy and inexpensive holiday themed centerpiece. Alternatively, decorate a pre-made gingerbread house for each table, and center it on a bed of greenery with candles around it. 3. Let it snow If you’re lucky, you may have a snowy wedding day, but you can still turn your reception into a winter wonderland even if it doesn’t snow. You could spray bare branches white and use them to frame doorways to recreate the feeling of a snowy forest . You’ll find plenty of inspiration for decorating your tables. A little tip for photographers . Every woman has her own sensitivities and insecurities . It is your job to show her how to pose, give her confidence, and position her in the best angles. Never use negative reinforcement if your model isn’t doing it right such as, No, like this, instead, say, Ok, now try this. The best thing you can do is to show her.

My favorite thing to do when photographing is to tell people to give me a fake laugh. It always turns into a real laugh because it feels so ridiculous !

Aglaya and Alexander were so sweet to invite me into their adorable home! I loved seeing them in their element, creating art , laughing and enjoying the company of each other. In-home sessions might be my new favorite !

Each month I write down all of my business goals and every since I’ve done this I’ve always achieved them ! There is something just straight magic about putting a concrete idea out into the universe.
