Ever tried kinesiology tape? I recently took a course from RockTape Canada and have been seeing great results with patients! So how does it work?... Applying tape to the skin causes a gentle lifting effect (note the wrinkles in the second pic!) that decompresses pain receptors, improves lymph flow, and influences the nervous system to help restore function and cue proper movement. Here are a few conditions I’ve had success in treating with acupuncture lately: Eastern approach - anxiety, migraines, digestive complaints Western approach - sciatica, rotator cuff dysfunction, back pain Eastern and Western COMBINED - headaches, osteoarthritis, quitting smoking Want to learn more? Acupuncture in tight traps - a great treatment for tension headaches, sore and achy upper back, and often part of treatments for rotator cuff dysfunction. Note how I’m holding the upper trapezius muscle between my thumb and fingers, ensuring safety by avoiding underlying structures, such as the lung.

Here’s a quick demonstration of cupping along the back and traps.

Do you suffer from low back pain? Acupuncture can help! In addition to a typical acupuncture treatment, these needles are being stimulated with an electric device to influence the nervous system, improve nutrient delivery to damaged tissues, and remove inflammatory chemicals. Appointments available Monday - Friday ... Craving something sweet and crunchy? This weekend I dehydrated honey crisp apples from Thompson’s Orchard. They were selling these apples at a discount because they don’t look perfect (note the spots on the skin) but they sure taste perfect! Love that this tasty snack was grown locally and helping to reduce food waste!

Gingko biloba - one of my favourite trees because of its beautifully shaped two-lobed leaves (bi = two, loba = lobes). Gingko also happens to have medicinal properties, as it benefits the cardiovascular system and blood flow to the brain. This means it can be used to improve cognitive function and decrease ringing in the ears, but only if the ringing in the ears is caused by poor blood flow in the first place. When starting any supplement or herb, it is important to conside...r dose, timing, form, and interactions. Talk to a naturopathic doctor to see what’s right for you! #gingkobiloba #herbalmedicine #natureismedicine #getoutside #chathamkent #chathamnaturopath See more

Hands-on naturopathic care! The treatment I find most effective and use most frequently is acupuncture with electro-stimulation. Following an electro-acupuncture treatment, you’ll typically receive either: #1: instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization therapy with a cooling menthol-based cream ... OR #2: moving cupping therapy with a liquid magnesium spray to help relax your muscles See more

Nature is so unique and wonderfully made. YOU are so unique and wonderfully made. Your health concerns are unique to you, so shouldn’t your treatment plan be unique to you as well? Initial appointments with me are over an hour long, so we have time to really discuss YOU and what you’re going through, and have time for an INDIVIDUALIZED treatment.

Dr. Alexandra Wolting, ND 20.08.2020

Acupuncture is a very effective therapy (especially for pain and injuries!) but unfortunately it does create a bit of waste. This is all to ensure your safety of course, as the needles come in sterile packaging and are one-time use only. On the left, you can see 5 needles, each in their own individual blister pack with their own plastic guide tube. On the right, we have a pack of 5 needles with just one tube. I prefer these because I typically use multiple needles per trea...tment, plus it means less garbage.
