I love hearing when my clients realize the difference between just exercise and therapeutic exercise. The difference is asking yourself: does this contribute to my issue and make it worse? Sometimes relearning just how to sit, stand, squat or lift can make all the difference. Don't underestimate the importance of form. Let me know if there are particular conditions or exercises you'd like explained in future posts.
When you need a little break from feeling stress, try taking a steady breath in and out. Equal lengths 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ... Equal effort in - out. Let the breath be comfortable and natural. The exhale may lengthen naturally. Stress management is important. Little tools are learned in times of peace for use during those more chaotic moments. Pranayama is the Sanskrit world for breath control. I teach many different breathing techniques to my students/clients depending on their needs.
