BIG NEWS: "Closer" will be featured at the AAF in New York City this month! I'm really grateful for this opportunity and I can't thank Abbozzo Gallery enough. They took a chance on me last year, and it has been nothing but an amazing experience so far. OK, so I have some official news to share. I've had a tremendous week thanks to the very passionate and supportive staff at Abbozzo Gallery. Three of my paintings sold within 4 days! One of them is this new one...it basically sold right off the easel so I didn't have time to properly document it, but for the time being, this is a pretty accurate representation :). "Michael" Oil on Wood Panel 20 x 16 inches 2014... This is a humble tribute to Michael Davey, a former professor and a true friend, without whom I would have never had the chance to learn and develop as much as I have. He recognized and supported my passion during a turbulent time when I found myself contemplating - and seriously doubting - my future as an artist. Reflecting back on my time at York University, all of those gruelling critiques and sleepless nights spent trying to develop the "right" technique were totally worth it; and they would not have been possible without Michael. His passion for his students and their technical as well as conceptual development also serves as a great source of inspiration for me whenever I am teaching a workshop. I finished it earlier this year but I was only able to get it documented recently, so I apologize for being a little late with this post. Inquiries about this painting can be made through Abbozzo Gallery at 401 Richmond in Toronto. Thanks!
