Just over a week ago, George Floyd was murdered in broad daylight by those who were meant to "serve and protect" him. This isn't the first time. For the better part of a decade, we've witnessed story after story, hashtag after hashtag, movement after movement, all calling for the same thing: justice. ... Let there be no confusion: it's urgentnow, more than everfor us, as Muslims, to acknowledge police brutality as a grave injustice. To end all systemic and targeted violence and racism against all black people. To unequivocally support those seeking to be given their due rights. To do what we canwhether that's donating, speaking out against or joining in organized proteststo ensure we're on the right side of history. Our hearts and our minds have been heavy this week with the events that have been unfolding just outside our border. As a black owned Muslim business we sympathize with our brothers and sisters in America and all over the world. Every human being deserves dignity and respect. With that, we leave you with the words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (): Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart and that is the weakest of faith. [Muslim] "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others." #blackouttuesday
