As Thunder Bay enters the Orange Zone, we wanted to take a second to reiterate one of our key COVID-19 Safety Protocols and ensure each and every patient goes home safely after every treatment. We take this situation very seriously, and build our safety procedures based on current government regulations and guidance from the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Before your appointment at Align Osteopathy & Wellness, every patient is screened with clear and basic... questions via email and upon arrival at the clinic. These questions are designed to catch potential risk of exposure, and to reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus within our community. These screenings are not just a clinic request, but also a legal requirement. It is imperative that every patient responds to each question truthfully - please notify us as soon as possible if any answers have changed before your appointment. This woman you will see me tag in all of my thank yous. Let's go back to probably somewhere in late 2018. I had a shoulder injury. Noone knew what it was. I was barely lifting. I was hopeless. Simple tasks like putting on my bra I could barely do. So let's forget about doing my sport. I tried Chriopractors. Saw my doctor. Got an MRI. Needling. Physiotherapy. Muscle activation therapy. Massage. You name it. Nothing. Not a g** d*** thing worked. After my good friend @jts_1970 hounded this wonderful woman enough she made room in her busy schedule for me. That first appointment I walked in just as hopeless as every other one, this time though this woman knew something. Without even seeing my chart she knew I was a prior figure skater. She looked me over. Moved me into different positions. Had me breath a lot and that was it! That was it? Well great. Money well flushed away. However she had a different "theory" for me as to why my shoulder was messed up. It wasn't my shoulder. It was my ribs and spine. Well fancy that. Great but can she fix it? She told me I would be sore when I got home. To relax. Drink water and walk a bit. Yeah okay there lady. Sure. You didn't even touch me. About an hour later. BAM! IT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS. I was on my couch crying. What the hell did this woman do to me? Oh it was awful. But 3 days later my range of motion improved. The constant pain wasn't at a 12 anymore. So I have continued with this voodoo worker for 2 years. That year I placed dead last at Nationals. Since her, I have won almost every competition. I have 2 national titles and am now a PRO. I can't begin to thank you enough for all of the extra work you put into me. The scheduling and answering of my texts. You aren't just my osteopath, you are a friend and I truly am so grateful to you and everything you have done. A strong interest in health, wellness and the power of prevention lead her to complete an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at Lakehead University. After her experience with high performance sport, injury and the difficult journey of recovery, she discovered Osteopathy; a practice of manual therapy which is deeply rooted in anatomy, physiology an...d body mechanics. Osteopathic philosophy provides a logical framework for understanding the complex balance between health and disease. Krista studied Osteopathic theory and practical skills at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, located in Hamilton, Ontario. This challenging four year, full time program has given Krista the knowledge and ability to assist patients on their path to better health and function. When you’re both osteopathic practitioners and your pup gives you a heart attack daily due to her knack for positioning herself in the worst possible postures .

This was one of the quotes that we both felt hook, line and sunk us into the depth that is osteopathy. We are both madly and truly in love with what we do. We are so blessed to have a career that is so rewarding. Putting people back together in a way that really addresses the true cause of their symptoms and dysfunction is never easy but it sure makes our hearts happy .
