PUSH Training 10.02.2021

This is 45 No make up, no lash extensions, no filter...maybe just a good camera angle. I know I post a lot about my age but I want you to know that "getting old" doesn't have to suck. Last week, I had a quick check up at the Drs (part of completing a full physical for some exciting stuff). Usually I hate the usual weigh-in and having my height checked but this time (other than the BMI part) I came out feeling really, really good.... Why? Because at the age of 31, after suffering from an eating disorder, I was diagnosed with osteopenia, which means I was already starting to lose bone mass. Add in perimenopause (and it's host of amazing symptoms...said sarcastically), plus a family history of bad osteoporosis and I thought I was doomed...doomed to be even shorter than I already am. But 14 years later, my height hasn't budged ...I'm a solid straight line across on a chart How did I do it? You're probably thinking dairy and supplements...right? Wrong! I DON'T consume dairy (regularly...and never drink milk) and DON'T take calcium pills. What I do do is, regular strength training and eat lots of veggies and protein (and yes, ) Did you know that weight training for osteoporosis, not just walking or doing aerobics, but lifting weights, can help protect your bones and prevent osteoporosis-related fractures (because you also get the bonus of balance training which means less falls)? Studies show that strength training over a period of time can help prevent bone loss and MAY even help build new bone So if you haven't started lifting, what are you waiting for? Day 2 in the Red Zone! Anyone else already feeling the stress? I don't do well with change so this constantly evolving tier system is wearing on me. Today I broke down. Yes, you see me smiling but a couple hours before I was in tears over my lunch (which I could barely eat). Why? I'm stressed about my stress. I'm not here to talk about my problems because what I think are big things could be nothing to you. I just want you to know you're not alone. We are all going through... this together After getting some work done, I had a quick nap, then went for a short, hard run. Sometimes a little fresh Ayr (and exercise) does the body and mind good. Do what you need to do to get through today. Not only am I a personal trainer, I am also your personal cleaner...(I'm not available outside the gym ) and sometimes a fashion coordinator! With ever changing colours in our new tiered system, I can assure you that I am doing everything to keep you safe. All equipment is disinfected by me before and after use, some equipment has been taped off by @gym41kw to insure 3 metres of distancing, and my mask only comes off to take a sip of water. There is also safety in numbers......in this case fewer.
