Zach Bush, MD shares amazing, wholistic perspectives in this video that are a must watch/listen. Anyone wanting to understand the coronavirus on another level I highly recommend you check this out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEb33U0hHxM

Wanted to share this recipe as it's a go-to snack for our family. If you're feeling stuck inside on this cold but sunny day, open the curtains to enjoy the sunshine and try a new recipe in the kitchen! https://dralisonparsons.ca/oatmealpeanutbutterenergyballs

I wanted to share the information for this online workshop being offered for women in the Simcoe-Muskoka area. What better timing to learn more about reducing stress with mindfulness. The workshop instructor is amazing and I know you'll love her and the whole 8 week program :)

How true is this! This great little reminder was posted by a colleague of mine the other day and I just had to share it. Let's choose to focus on the good; I know it feels harder these days to do so, but that only makes it more important to try!

Worth checking out - here's a description of this workshop from the amazing woman running it: "Women Transforming is a wonderful program for women who are looking to connect back to themselves, to find community and to deepen their resilience. After experiencing the pandemic and all that has come with it, this program would really suit anyone who is feeling a bit shaken by our new reality. I am also teaching the Reducing Stress through Mindfulness which will help women to d...evelop a mindfulness practice as well as look at our patterns when we are stressed and work on creating a healthy relationship with our stress and ourselves. The other two programs listed on the poster below are for those of you who are interested in creating a business! It's a wonderful, and safe, opportunity to try out something you have been thinking about - or perhaps working at on your own - and need a guide to bring it to fruition. If you are interested, you can click on the link below which will guide you to the YWCA Muskoka website to register or to inquire further." See more

I love this :) Create your own headlines, remember to be true to yourself, and always aim to focus on the positive people, things & circumstances in your life. What you focus on expands. Thanks to my friend and colleague Dr. Sarah for sharing so I could pass this positive, hope filled story along! #whatyoufocusonexpands

It's Naturopathic Medicine Week, and this week sure looks different than years past! This picture pretty much sums up what my "clinic" days look like, and although at first I wasn't keen on doing virtual visits I'm actually starting to enjoy them. I still definitely prefer to see my patients faces in person, but am finding ways to embrace this new modality :) If you have any questions feel free to reach out; if you're new to virtual visits I can help walk you through it. I'm also planning to be back in the office for essential appointments starting the week of June 8th so stay tuned for updates on that! #natmedweek2020

Fertility struggles are not uncommon these days, but you don't need to feel lost or defeated by them. There are many lifestyle factors (such as diet, exercise, stress reduction, reduced chemical exposures, etc) that you can control and that can help to optimize fertility. There is plentiful research out there to back this up. If you have questions please reach out. Whether you're just starting to try or you're already undergoing IVF, its a good idea to reach out; by optimizin...g these lifestyle factors you'll only increase your chances of a successful & healthy pregnancy. I felt inspired to write this message because spring and summer seem to be the times of the year I have the most success with fertility patients; I have numerous patients that are currently pregnant and I want other women to know this is possible. It's also important to remember that its not just about having a baby; its best to strive for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby, and the best way to do that is to optimize your own pre-pregnancy health. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3717046/ See more

This is a well put article on the importance of supporting your immune system and calming your mind in the midst of the anxiety-provoking coronavirus outbreak. I would add one thing to this article and that's supporting your body's first line of defense which is FEVER. A fever is actually our body's way of increasing our internal temperature to one where we can survive but the bacteria/virus cannot. If we suppress this we are giving up our first line of defense. Obviously there's a time and a place where fevers can get too high and some people are at risk for complications of this; if you want to learn more about what's a safe fever and how to support it naturally reach out to your health care provider. Stay well! https://chopra.com//anxious-about-the-coronavirus-here-are

Should I drink coffee while breastfeeding? This is a topic that comes up alot with my patients and it's a tricky question to answer because it's not the same answer for every new mom. Here's a great summary of the pros/cons of coffee. Have a read :) https://ecochicmovement.com//how-to-make-coffee-your-secre

What products are you putting on your skin? What products are you using on your children? Did you know our skin is a permeable membrane that absorbs what we put on it? Did you know that many beauty products (including shampoos, soaps, make-up, creams, etc) have toxic ingredients in them that can disrupt hormones, trigger allergies, and cause skin irritations? Check out this free online summit for more information - or contact me if you would like more information on safe products to use https://nontoxicbeautysummit.com/
