Arthritis & Massage At the bottom of the ocean floor, when 2 tectonic plates smash into each other, the result can be a massive tidal wave called a tsunami, where heaping amounts of water crash into the surrounding landmasses wreaking havoc and causing destruction to everything in its path. When 2 bones (for example, your humerus and scapula) repeatedly smash into each other, the result can be a massive tidal wave called ARTHRITIS, where heaping amounts of inflammatory fluid ...crash into the surrounding body structures wreaking havoc and causing destruction to everything in its path. If you already suffer from Arthritis, Aliyah Massage can be beneficial in diminishing the destructive effects by decreasing associated pain, reducing swelling and increasing ranges of motion in the joints of your body. Aliyah Massage can be beneficial as well to prevent these terrible situations of seismic proportions.

Aliyah Massage Therapy Centre. Book an appointment today! (514)448-1484 Written by Stephen Devlin an Aliyah Osteopath Do you suffer from debilitating chronic pain? Has your doctor declared that you have a clean bill of health yet you still have issues with digestion? Has your physiotherapist or chiropractor helped you but you still suffer? Difficulty walking? Post-operative pain? OSTEOPATHY might be what you need. Osteopathy is a manual therapy that views the person globally ...as a functional unit that addresses the CAUSE of pain and not just the symptoms. My name is Stephen Devlin and I am amongst the newest employees at ALIYAH. In 2014, I began practicing Osteopathy, a field that truly excites me. As a young personal trainer along this career path, my greatest frustration was working with clients who endured acute or chronic pain. Recognizing my limitations, I am now equipped with Osteopathic tools and skills to help! I look forward to being of service to you here at ALIYAH.

Aliyah Massage Therapy Centre. Book an appointment today! (514) 448-1484 Written by Kate Hartog an Aliyah certified massage therapist The human body is designed to be keenly aware of negative circumstances and consequences. The brain gives more attention to negative experiences over positive ones because negative events pose a chance of danger. Our bodies are designed to respond to these threats by either fighting or fleeing. Both of those actions require extra levels of Cor...tisol, known as the "stress hormone," which suppresses the immune system and increases blood sugar levels to keep our muscles ready for the fight or flight response. Sustaining higher Cortisol levels can lead to digestive problems, headaches, insomnia...etc. That's where Massage comes in. Multiple studies have shown that Massage Therapy lowers Cortisol levels, increases Dopamine and Serotonin (our feel-good hormones), and lowers excitatory hormones like Norepinephrine and Epinephrine, eliminating the aforementioned digestive problems, headaches, insomnia, to name a few. Unlike many pharmaceuticals used to treat GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and various other disorders that increase excitatory hormones, Massage Therapy has proven to be paramount negative side effects. As a clinical Massage Therapist at Aliyah, and one who has been living with GAD for over five years, I have first-hand experience with the positive effects of Massage Therapy on the nervous and endocrine systems both as a practitioner and a client. I work in a systematic and connected manner in order to build trust and expectation between client and their body tissues, in the effort to promote a healthy and balanced relationship amongst all your bodys systems. My goals are to increase awareness on the body-mind connection in the hopes that more people will view Massage Therapy as an essential part of psychological health maintenance rather than a luxurious indulgence. Aliyah Massage Therapy Centre. Book an appointment today! (514) 448-1484 Written by Alexander Sabouri, a specialist in Orthotherapy and Kinesiology at Aliyah Massage Therapy Centre. Stress is known to be the biggest cause of postural imbalances. Both physical and psychological stressors affect your whole body including direct implications to your nervous, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as your muscles and bones. The respiratory system (the way in which we b...reathe) is made of a network of primary and accessory muscles. These muscles are instrumental in supporting your spine and rib cage. Elevated stress levels lead to a decrease in the respiratory volume and increase the respiratory rhythm which translates as shortness of breath (dyspnea). As a result, the muscles of the respiratory tract become overly tense, improperly vascularized and starved of oxygen. The tense musculature directly affects the skeletal bones to which they attach forcing them out of alignment leading to poor posture habits. This may lead to pain in the surrounding areas. The approach of an Orthotherapist and Massage Therapist at Aliyah is both corrective and holistic. By treating the muscles that cause poor posture, the goal to restore the body back to its original and most effective alignment can be achieved. See more
