HOT TUB FRAME WORK . . Why does it matter what material is used to frame & support my hot tub? ... Wood frames are used widely in the hot tub industry. Unfortunately regulations don't allow for pressure treated wood to be cut indoors. This leaves them with Un-Pressure treated wood to build their frames during production. Why does this matter? Another common feature of modern Hot Tub manufacturing is the plastic wrap around bases. These are great for keeping out pests, and providing protection to the base of the hot tub from the outside elements. But what about INSIDE? Gaskets get old, pipes pull loose, and LEAKS happen. Water pools inside that basin and gets trapped inside. Here's an example of 2 different brands of Hot Tubs that had protective plastic bottom bases. Both of their bottom structures are so rotted, that the wood disintegrated as we we're pulling off the base. Save your dollars, look into the future of your hot tubs lifespan and get a Tub with a Steel Frame. If its Galvanized Steel, even better! A hot tubs life expectancy is as good as it's bones. Make sure you're demanding more out of your Hot Tubs construction. Or at the very least, pressure treated wood!
