Dr Hinshaw made the announcement today that there will be no gatherings 0ver 15 people till september when they shall look at it again. So we sadly announce that the All Terrier Club of Alberta must also cancel this years show.We look forward to seeing everyone in 2021. Tina Gaudet Good Evening Everyone,... It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our 2020 Alberta Kennel Club Summer Classic is cancelled per the Government of Alberta’s Dr. Hinshaw’s announcement today, April 23, 2020 whereby all summer events in Alberta above groups of 15 are cancelled at least until mid September. A very sad day for Albertans in that the Calgary Stampede as well as Klondike Days in Edmonton have also announced the cancellation of their Events due to COVID-19. This is not the outcome that we had hoped for as we still had hope that our Show would commence as planned. To our valued exhibitors, sponsors, vendors, judges, advertisers and our dear specialty clubs, we hope you will join us in 2021 for the most amazing show ever! Oh what a celebration we will have! Well our 50th Anniversary show is over and was a super event! I want to thank so many people who made it a success. Cheryl Werner & Kevin Werner for being there early to set up, make up baskets for our raffles and work in the tent all day selling tickets and keeping things running smoothly. June Fraser for helping put together the puppy play yard, set up and doing whatever was needed. Sheila Bremaud and Dick Vathje for the catalogue. Monica Barr for helping with exhibitor ba...gs. Jill Jenkins and Paul Price, ring stewards extraordinaire! Karen Hanner for another awesome White Hat Ceremony. Our judges Wendy Hamilton-Petkau and Dan Ericsson for doing the Honors for our entry, Jamie at Bell Street Designs for our gorgeous prizes and Sandi Zacher for picking them up. Our generous club members for providing sponsorship for all the prize monies, EZ Clean for samples. My husband Jack for building puppy play yards, set up and tear down at the tent, showing our veteran Rhodes and helping out with puppies! Thanks to Bell Street Designs and Sandi Zacher who managed our pick up in Montana today. There will be a limited number of these beauties available for sale at the ATCA tent so don't miss out!

We would love for people to join us to join us for supper at the Hideout, 380 Midpark Way SE, Calgary, to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Supper is 7:30 after the Specialty on Friday. The ATCA is very pleased to have Dan Ericsson of Sweden as our Specialty judge this year. Dan Ericsson started breeding Scottish Terriers in 1972 and has since bred 115 + champions. He has owned and bred champions in Pekingese and Labradors which he currently breeds and shows parallel to his Scotties. Has judged worldwide in more than 40 countries, and officiates at more than 30 shows all over the world annually including several FCI World Shows. Former President of The Swedi...sh Terrier Club and The Swedish Scottish Terrier Club and past Member of Breed Standard and Judges' Committee in Sweden. Judged at Cruft's in 2003 and is a member of The Kennel Club in Britain. Owned and bred Top Dog (All Breeds) in Sweden 2001 and one bitch of his breeding was RU BIS at Cruft's in 2004. Interested in most breeds of dogs and has been fortunate to have met many great dogs and breeders on the international scene. Approved to judge All Breeds under FCI rules. The results are in! Another successful All Terrier Specialty hosted by The All Terrier Club of Alberta, once again the largest Terrier entry in Canada! This year, at our 44th specialty, we hosted a total entry of 167 plus 20 Terrier puppies in Sweeps. Our esteemed judge Pamela Bruce did a wonderful job sorting through an entry that included many of Canada’s top terriers. Sweeps was judged by Dr. Terill Udenberg, who is finishing his all breed status by saving the best gr...oup, Terriers, for last! Thanks to both judges, we hope you enjoyed your day! Big thanks also go out to our Ring Steward, Jill Jenkins, always organized and gracious to all the exhibitors. Erin Verwey, our Show Secretary, did a great job organizing and coordinating our judging schedule to fit with the all breed schedule, as well as the million other details she oversaw prior to and during the show. Club members Cheryl Werner, June Fraser, Sheila Bremaud, Dick Vathje, Karen Burford, Helen Arnold, Monica Barr and Janine Heiderich. This show would not happen without you!! Hello Everyone! Our Summer Classic is soon upon us and our team has been busy already preparing for the weekend! We would like to announce a specialty ring cha...nges for Friday, August 4, 2017. The Alberta Sporting Hound Association and Borzoi Canada specialties will now be held in ring 11 and the All Terrier Specialty will be held in Ring 14. Revised Specialty schedules will be sent out to those exhibitors entered in those specialties, but we will not be sending out an updated All Breed Schedule, there will be a notice at the AKC desk and Show Secretary tables. From wherever you are travelling, please be safe and it is our pleasure to be your hosts for the weekend! Come out, have fun, exhibit great sportsmanship and be happy! Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may be interested.

Only one more week until this year's ATCA Specialty! We have a huge entry of 164 including our sweeps and regular classes!! We have 5 Clubs hosting boosters w...ith us. Thanks to the Cairn Terrier Club of Canada Wild Rose regional club, Friends of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Canada, Sealyham Terrier Club of Canada, and the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Association for choosing us to partner with this year. These clubs will receive rosettes noting their booster status and a cash donation from ATCA. There is still time to reserve your spot at the All Terrier BBQ and Gift Basket raffle. This will be held at the Time Fault Pub on the grounds at Spruce Meadows at 6:30 pm Friday. Enjoy some good food and friendship with your fellow Terrier enthusiasts and hear the judges thoughts on the entry and the day. Please contact Doug Fisher at [email protected] to reserve your spot! Judging sweeps begins at 8:15 in ring 11 and regular classes at 9:15. Helen has graciously offered to do up the turkey and all the members can bring a dish to complete the dinner. Karen Burford checked into the Legion and the price for catering the dinner was just more than we felt everyone would like to spend ($32 per person)....
