32 feels good Over the past few weeks there has been so many incredible things happening to me and around me. I generally don't ever stop and appreciate my accomplishments, I have more of a "thats done, what's next" attitude. Not that there's anything wrong with that, except I never feel like anything is enough. Work longer, grind harder, push limits further...that's what I always thought it took to be successful. Until recently I never stopped long enough to enjoy ...those things. Maybe it's because the sweat, blood and tears of the last 6 years is finally starting to pay off. Maybe it's because I'm getting older. Or maybe it's because I'm finally allowing myself to enjoy them and be proud of myself for these accomplishments. I struggle with perfectionism, and this turn around the sun I choose to be perfectly happy with not being perfect. Thank you for all of the birthday love this past weekend. What is the difference between hand tied and machine weft extensions? I get this question a lot, and there is some very apparent differences: Hand Tied hair is exactly that, sewn on a weft by hand. They are finer, not only in thickness of the weft itself but also lighter for the wearer. They tend to cost more as they are the premium choice on the market. Machine wefts are generally thicker in density and aren’t as flush to the scalp. You will definitely feel the we...ight difference if you're wearing machine wefts. They are at a lower price point because they are sewn using a machine rather than by hand. Both are great options depending on your desired end result, strength and density of your hair, and budget. Glow up This beautiful guest has a mane of hair that I packed full of babylights, teasylights, hand painting, you name it, it’s in there! This look took over five hours of nonstop foil work. She hasn’t coloured her hair since her wedding a few years ago and finally decided to treat herself and go blonde again. We couldn’t be happier with her first session of lightening! ... This is only first appointment to get to her goal colour, there could be one or two more. Lightening is a process no matter what stage you start at. Power Paint Our end goal is to be as light as possible. A few months ago she decided to box colour her hair grey, which turned green, which I then had to correct. After removing the green she was a brunette for a couple months. Three sessions later she's a beautiful bright blonde with still more sessions to go. I did a heavy power paint on her this session to cover themes surface area I could while maintaining the integrity of her hair. Given the recent announcements of our Prime Minister and steps the province is taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19, Elixir hair studio will be closed for the next little while. I have made some very hard decisions since becoming a business owner five years ago, but this is by far the hardest. None of us could see this one coming, but before it spreads anymore, I feel it it my responsibility to ensure the health and safety of not only my staff, as well as our clients. ...
