BEGIN LIFEGUARDING at AGE 15: Lifesaving Society Canada has adopted 15 years as the minimum age prerequisite for National Lifeguard, Swim for Life Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor certifications. Candidates must be at least 15 years of age as of the first day of the course; all other award prerequisites remain unchanged. This change is in effect immediately.... While the pool may not be opening this summer, staffing was a major contributing factor to making that call. The Town of Allan and Allan Swimming Pool will happily reimburse the cost to get your lifeguarding certification if you will commit to working at the pool next season.
