Merry Christmas everyone!
Happy Halloween!
A wild Kokohead appeared
First and last trial of the year (thanks Covid), but a super successful one! Koa is going for points for her Stockdog championship and I was trying to finish Roo’s Stockdog advanced title. Koa came first in Advanced Stockdog all three days and racked up 6 points. We had our moments....like her yeehaw outrun but overall worked very well.... Good old Roo pulled through with 2 Q’s over the 3 day trial and finished her title. Which marks the end of her CKC herding career. I may try for her Advanced title in AKC, but we’ll see where she’s at if the border ever re opens. Now to my students, which I’m all very proud of! Angus, the dog I run, is also working on his championship for Arena. He did amazing and worked well with me. He came first all three days, 2 reserve HIT and 1 HIT. He finished the trial with 5 points and a major towards his championship! I had 1 student in Started and a whole bunch in Tested. It was all their first time trialing their dogs competitively! My started students, James and Cheif got a 1st place in Stockdog and a HIT! As well as a respectable score and third place in Arena. My Tested students all Q’d and got their titles (all except one, and a puppy I bred to boot ) They all worked through their nerves and showed nice control on stock. 4 Rottweilers 3 Border Collies And 1 ACD with one Q to his tested title! Proud trainer and looking forward to what they’ll achieve next year!
Mother and son cooling off after a day of herding (Koa not impressed she has to share the tub with Bowie )
Ok, proud breeder moment! Congrats to Larry Favreau and Whisper (out of the Koa/Jojo litter) on getting a Q on sheep at their first ASCA trial! So happy with these pups!
