Couldnt have said it better ourselves
On a beautiful day like today it’s good to remember that some of the best teachers are right outside, in our own backyard or neighborhood. . . .... What could you learn from nature today? See more
Friday Flower Forsythia bursts into beautiful golden yellow flowers just as winter is ending. Bees and butterflies love them and they now come in smaller, more manageable varieties. Plant it in any landscape in full sun and watch as the cheery yellow blooms chase away any remaining thoughts of winter.
Pro Tip Pruning Hydrangeas PT. 2 . Earlier this week we talked about the types of hydrangeas that can be pruned in early spring (PeeGee & Annabelle). Other types of hydrangeas; Oakleaf & Bigleaf should be pruned after they are done flowering *Late Summer*... . . . *As always remove, dead or damaged branches first *Also as a reminder you should not prune your newly planted shrubs for the first few seasons, this allows them to establish themselves well (root growth)
Pro Tip- "When do I prune my hydrangea?" This is a VERY common question we get asked. The answer is fairly simple, it depends what kind of hydrangea it is. Some Hydrangeas will produce blooms on the current seasons growth or "New Wood" while others will bloom on the previous seasons growth or "Old Wood".

In bright shades of blue, Siberian Squill (Scilla sibirica) are sure to catch your eye no matter where they are planted. They bloom in the early spring, sometimes emerging through frost and snow. They tend to naturalize and spread freely, so only plant them if you don't plan on containing them.
Pro Tip GET YOUR GLOVES OUT for this one! Now is the best time to cut down ornamental grass (before any new growth begins). After cutting back the grasses, they can be cut into smaller pieces and added to your compost or put into leaf bags like any other yard waste.
Happy Earth day . Did you know weve been celebrating Earth day for 50 yrs now? .... We all want a better tomorrow, and to find joy in something as simple as the sun . What are some things we can do at home to celebrate Earth day 2020? . Start a composting bin . Grow some of your own vegetables or herbs . Reuse or repurpose some old things instead of throwing them out . How ever you decide to celebrate, we hope you find some joy today.
Grape Hyacinth is the common name for the spring bulb Muscari, which are not actually hyacinths. Never the less, they are a beautiful, easy to grow and long lived addition to any garden. Muscari look great planted among taller spring bulbs such as daffodils or tulips. Be sure to give them some room in the garden, as they spread easily.... What are some of your favorite early bloomers?
Heres to hoping this Easter holiday brings your family health, happiness, and lots of love (from a safe distance)
