ALLELES 47.5+ PROJECT . .I don’t think anyone will be opposed to the update we made to our project. We have extended our 50+ age bracket slightly to include a fabulous woman who believed in us since the very beginning @wild_atheart7373 , there are no words, you are the absolute coolest Jo, thank you for being involved . . .... .The ALLELES 47.5+ Project is a passion project that stemmed from the obvious lack of representation of the fab 50+ folks in the fashion, design, and prosthetic world and even within our own brand. This is more of an editorial style project that asks participants who are 47.5 years or older and who wear one of our covers, to submit a photo of themselves that love along with their own observations on disability, age, style & self image. We will be curating the submissions in the format of Hardcover book that we send to our participants to have as a keepsake. This will be a limited edition book that will not be sold for commercial purposes, it is more for our participants to be inspired by the others they are featured with hopes that it will evolve into an ongoing series! We will be sharing all of these fabulous photos and stories on our social media channels in hopes of furthering the visibility and dialog of this vibrant community . So many people in the prosthetic world assume that only people between age 18-40 would be interested in rocking our covers. That couldnt be further from the truth. Majority of our clients are over the age of 50! . .This is something we are going to be focusing on in the next little bit... sharing more of our clients in the 50+ age bracket! (Keep in mind, we dont meet majority of our clients. More often then not, we develop virtual relationships with some of our clients th...at tag us or that we discover through IG or FB.). This further perpetuates the perception of our covers only being worn by younger folks (ie. the age range that tends to use social media). . Beauty, joy and fashion does not have an expiration date and we want to do better to prove it!
