An urgent reminder, please DO NOT purchase or use the products that are intended to be used in your vehicle air conditioners to seal leaks. These products will ruin the machines used to refill your air conditioner at your mechanic’s shop. It will also necessitate the purchase of a whole new air conditioning system for your vehicle. Not an extra expense any of us need in this day and age. Stay cool and enjoy the summer.

Most seasonal tire changes have been completed by now, please don’t forget to keep checking the lug nuts, particularly on aluminum rims, they notoriously loosen with use.

Saw a YouTube video about this air conditioning sealant product... Allen wants to warn you about this and any similar product available at fine stores near you: "DON’T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS TYPE OF PRODUCT!" ... Once a product of this type has been used, your system has been compromised from the point of view of future AC (air conditioning) repairs and recharges. Repair shops must remove what gas is in your system to make any repairs. When doing so, sealant products get removed with the gas as well. THIS RUINS THE SHOP'S AC MACHINE. By using this type of product, you not only will need a complete new AC system for your vehicle but you’ve also unfortunately taken away a portion of the mechanic’s livelihood since s/he will need a new AC servicing machine and they are not cheap. Please do yourself and your favorite handy mechanic a big favor and don’t be a DIY with AC. If in doubt, give them a call to see what they recommend. . . . . . . #airconditioning #ACrepair #whatnottodo #Bridgetown #automotivemechanic #supportlocal #tipoftheday #saynotostopleak

Regular oil changes keep the engine running smoothly, thus lessening the chance for something to go wrong with your engine. The latest generations of engines are extremely complex and require lubricants of a particular viscosity that contain specific additives, however, these lubricants have a limited life span and if they are not changed regularly, a gelatinous sludge will build up in the lubrication system and slowly damage the engine. Generally, engine oil should be chang...ed every 5,000 km or so, however, some manufacturers suggest longer intervals between maintenance and specify the viscosity and type of product to use, such as synthetic oil. Curious about your specific vehicle? Give me a call to find out about what your vehicle's oil change maintenance should be and/or to schedule your next oil change. (902) 665-2192
