No Justice ~ No Peace - March for George Floyd in Saskatoon. George Floyd, a 46 year old black man, died on May 25 after a Minneapolis police officer, pinned Floyd's neck under his knee for more than eight minutes. Braydon Page organized Thursdays march in Saskatoon, dedicated to the memory of George Floyd and other people of colour who have died in police encounters.... The Saskatoon Police Service provided Traffic Protective Operations for the Demonstration. Keeping the March and Message focused on George Floyd and Racist Policing. Due to the peaceful demonstrators, no extra policing was necessary during the march. Quote from the Saskatoon Police Service Facebook Page: We hold our officers to high standards and expect them to emulate our core values in every interaction honesty, integrity, compassion, fairness, commitment, respect and professionalism. And we hold them accountable when they don’t. We are committed to transparency and fairness. We aren’t afraid to admit when we’ve made mistakes, and then we try to learn from them. There are opinions from all sides of the topic of Racial Policing. The main thing that we should take from this tragedy is, we all need to work together to make change happen. It was nice to see Saskatoon kept violence out of the demonstration, that behaviour enables our voices to be heard! Thanks to Braydon Page for organizing the march and working with the City and SPS to make it happen. #justiceforgeorgefloyd #georgefloyd #nojusticenopeace #noviolence #noracistpolice #livesmatter #blackoutday2020 #blackouttuesday #blackprotest #rally #blackproud #yxe #saskatoon #allracesmatter #aboriginallivesmatter #asianlivesmatter #noracism #racism #police #minneapolispolice #minneapolisprotest #socialmadelocal #saskatoonpolice #CityofSaskatoon #yxephotographer

The Snowbirds Public Affairs Officer, Capt. Jennifer Casey goes home today. My son and I had the opportunity to be at the 2019 Moose Jaw Airshow last July. The first Airshow in Moose Jaw hosted in 14 years. They were hoping for 12-14000 attendees and 33000 showed up on both days. It was an incredible experience to watch the Snowbirds in action. The Canadian Armed Forces has released a preliminary timeline for the return of Capt. Jennifer Casey to Halifax as she is laid to ...rest. The event is scheduled to take place today, Sunday, May 24 beginning at the Shell Aerocentre near the Halifax Stanfield International Airport at 5:00 pm - EST. There will be a brief ceremony on the tarmac followed by a procession around the city to honour her memory. Casey, Public Information Officer for the Snowbirds, passed away when the plane she was in crashed in Kamloops, B.C. last weekend. Casey was part of Operation Inspiration, trying to raise morale across the country in the face of the pandemic. "It is important to note that Capt Casey died trying to inspire people across the country to stay home, keep their distance, and stay safe while keeping their spirits high. People honouring Jenn today are encouraged to wear the Snowbirds colours - red and white or Habs jerseys, Tragically Hip apparel, or Star Wars clothing, all things Jenn was a fan of, according to her family. (CBC - Haley Ryan) Our condolences to Jenn’s Family, friends and 15 Wing Moose Jaw Snowbird Families. #cfsnowbirds #snowbirds #15wingmoosejaw #airshow #moosejawairshow2019 #moosejawairshow #rcafsnowbirds #rcaf #halifax #canadianarmedforces #canada #saskatchewan #moosejaw #nikoncanada #nikonphotography @ Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
