Our 3rd #IWD2021 share is Merin George who is a Dental Assistant Merin moved from South India 2 years ago and is enjoying every bit of it. The reason why she chose dentistry is because she loves to serve and heal people, and what better way than to get them smiling again. When Merin isn’t working she loves spending time with her fur baby Malakai.

Our 2nd #IWD2021 share is Mandy Nickerson who is our Receptionist. Mandy is mom to a 3.5 year old little boy who keeps her very busy in her spare time. She lost her job in the hotel industry due to covid and was referred into dentistry by her Mother who has always worked in dental. Although she is new to this industry Mandy is enjoying it very much!

Our 1st #IWD2021 share is Ashley Waugh who is a Dental Hygienist. Ashley grew up in Bedford but her heart is always in the country. She lives outside Elmsdale with her husband, twin girls, and many furry and feathered friends. Ashley got in to dentistry because she love’s smiles and believes every smile is unique to each individual.

To mark International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the efforts and achievements of women across the dental profession. Kicking off this week, we will take to our social media platforms to recognize the wonderful work of women in the dental team. Happy Dental Assistants Recognition Week! Dental Assistants are a key part of the dental practice year-round, but they get a special week dedicated to them each year for all the great work they do! We can’t thank Katrina, Merin, Natalie, Brittany, Devyn, Toniesha, Kelly, and Shannon enough for all your hard work, your excellent patient care, and superior skills. You are all amazing and we are so lucky to have you on our Alliance Dental team!

Amie really misses all her patients and wanted them to have a little reminder from her!!

To Our Valued Patients, As of midnight, March 31st we will no longer be permitted to see any emergency patients within our offices. The NS Government and the NS Dental Board have determined that the community spread of COVID-19 has increased the risk to both patients and dental practitioners. We want you to know that we are still here for you and are still available to take your calls Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. After the initial triage one of our dent...ists will call you to offer advice, as well as over the phone emergency care. We will also arrange referrals to the established Emergency Dental Treatment Centres as required. Outside of regular office hours please listen carefully to our voicemail, as our on call dentist is still available to speak with you regarding a dental emergency. Important Update on Emergency Care: As of March 22, dentists can no longer practice dentistry in their offices unless they deem it necessary to perform an emergency dental procedure in the best interest of the patient’s health. This is an order under the Health Protection Act. At Alliance Dental, we remain committed to our patients and will be answering all calls.
