Clinic Update Campaign to Reinstate Osteopathy My professional association, the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO), has been very busy lobbying the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Minister of Health and many provincial officials regarding the resumption of Osteopathic services in Ontario. At this point, some progress has been made, however the OAO feels that contact from patients will be of even greater effect for Ministry officials to fully under...stand the effects of the prohibition of Osteopathy services. The Ontario government has ordered another provincial lockdown beginning December 26, 2020, set to end in Windsor-Essex on January 23, 2021. Unfortunately the government does not treat osteopathic manual practitioners using the same rules as the Regulated Health Professionals Act. As such, osteopathic services are not deemed essential by our government, and so are being forced to close until January 23, 2021. I share the incredible frustration this closure causes and very muc...h hope that the Ontario government and the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners will ensure that osteopathic services reopen at the end of this 28-day lockdown. Many practitioners are concerned because, as you’ll remember, osteopathy was slated to closed for 28 days in March in a lockdown that continued until the end of June. As Osteopathic Manual Practitioners we are frustrated and wish that we could be there for our patients, doing what we love, Manual Osteopathy.

Clinic Update - Clinic Now Open We have great news! The province has announced that Windsor will be entering Phase 2 this week. As such, the clinic is now open. An email has been sent to patients communicating changes and ongoing procedures regarding physical distancing and new procedures for appointments. ... Thank you to everyone for their patience and support for the past few months. It has been an incredible stressful and challenging time for us all as we have adjusted to so many changes. CLINIC UPDATE At this time, Windsor-Essex will NOT be included in Phase 2 reopening on Friday, June 12th. No date has been provided as our region is listed as a Delayed Phase 2 Region. We share in the frustration in the delay in being able to begin treating patients again. We continue to monitor Ontario government directives regarding COVID-19.... The clinic has assembled the necessary cleaning and PPE supplies necessary to re-open once the province has given the go ahead to do so. Online booking is still available for appointments beginning later in June, subject to the emergency orders as noted above. We hope our patients and friends and families are all staying safe. By order of the provincial medial officer of health, Osteopathy clinics and practitioners are not permitted to operate at this time.
