"The data does not lie. Humanity keeps on shrinking the amount of land that other species need to survive. And it often feels like an impossible battle to preserve nature in our neck of the woods.

Allison's Grove has been designated as an archaeological site with Cultural Heritage Value or Interest (CHVI) as 80 percent of the occupation predates 1870 hence the activity you see on the property now. From the Archaeological Assessment Memo: The assessment of the Tarbox archaeological site was completed on September 10, 2019. Nine banker’s boxes of material were recovered. A Stage 4 strategy will be required of the development to mitigate impacts to the archaeological site. The Stage 4 strategy can either take the form of avoidance and protection of the site within the proposed development, orexcavation of the site to remove the archaeological deposit and allow development to proceed in that area. It is entirely up to the proponent how they want to proceed.

I had a feeling it was full speed ahead with the developers since the election of this government and since the pandemic. Here is an article from June. "...one of the problems, critics say, is the government’s seemingly generous approach to MZOs has caught the attention of developers who see an order as a quick and easy way to get their developments approved without the lengthy hassle of the planning process."
