The Allium has teamed up with @calgarypride to raise funds and awareness for #ourpride! $1 for every "Goliath Gimlet" cocktail sold will be donated to this awesome organization. . . Since the Fall of 1987, Goliath's Bathhouse had been a staple in the Calgary community for folks to express their sexuality in a healthy and safe space. Sadly, on December 12th of 2002, this fine establishment was raided by the Calgary Police and 15 men were charged for soliciting a "bawdy house".... As this took place 20 years after most Canadian cities had put a stop to such raids, the public outcry was visceral. In retrospect, the incident was a powerful catalyst for fostering a meaningful dialogue between citizens and the state. Now known as The Texas Lounge, the bathhouse continues to serve Calgary's queer community. . . . .
