Today I lent my voice to the growing dissent about the Regional Fertility Clinic’s closing. You can find my clip at the 5 minute mark. If you haven’t done so yet, please sign the petition (link can be found in the comment section below.) Thank you to those who have already shown their support. It means so much to me!

Please consider signing this petition, friends. It would mean so much to me (& the countless people who are current patients of the Regional Fertility Clinic).

Beyond grateful to have participated in this project. Please take a look! Earlier this summer I and 18 other brave women gathered at the Hobbs farm for a photo session to celebrate our postpartum bodies. It was a soul lifting and liberating experience. Something in me changed as soon as I took off my dress and stood there proudly in my new underwear holding my beautiful baby boys. In that moment I knew I was enough. Hobbs Photography

Not too long ago a friend had posted a photo of herself & her 7 month old baby. It was a lovely photo, they looked so happy, but then I read what she had written and my heart just fell. She preempted her caption by apologizing for her postpartum size. I was crestfallen. Sad for her because she couldn't see her true beauty as a new mother. As a woman. Angry at social media for perpetuating negative & harmful ideals that are unattainable for the majority of us. It's taken me ex...actly 19 months to get to a place where I can post such a vulnerable photo of myself. I have embraced my postpartum body. This is my attempt to normalize the normal. I am beautiful. I am enough. And guess what? If you're reading this you too are normal. You are beautiful. You are enough. Much love & thanks to Aimee & Jenna of Hobbs Photography for choosing me to participate in this year's A Mother's Beauty. Two months ago I and 18 other brave women gathered at their farm for a photo session to celebrate our postpartum bodies and motherhood. It was a soul lifting and liberating experience. Something in me changed as soon as I took off my dress and stood there proudly in my new underwear holding my beautiful babies. I think we all felt the energy shift. It was that powerful of a moment. Please visit their blog to see the full session. Countless smart, confident, successful women, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and sisters are occupying their thoughts with negative self talk about their bodies. How do we change this? Small steps. Throw out your scale. Look at your naked body in the mirror and say out loud (even if it feels weird): I am beautiful. I am strong. I am worthy. Surround yourself with body positive lady friends. Wear those white jeans, bodycon dress or bikini you don't think is meant for you. It is for you. This is your only life. Embrace it. Make it count. Scotty and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary today. It hasn't always been easy--having kids has changed the dynamics of our relationship & we work hard at staying connected while constantly being pulled in different directions--but it's always been worth it. He's my best friend and I'm his best pal. I know 'cause I just asked him to confirm while I wrote out this caption.
