We had a great time at the Mojave Dog Sports SDDA scent detection trial last weekend earning first place overall in the working stream of Elite both days. We also snagged our fourth Elite title on our journey to Grand Master Championship. If you’re interested in taking Scent Detection classes please contact High Tails Pet Resort & Grooming
We are soooo excited to officially share our handout on the Stages of Training. Thank you Doggie Drawings by Lili Chin for bringing this to life! This handout... is used for clients to follow their dog's training progress! It goes through all the stages of learning: 1. Acquisition (get the behavior) 2. Fluency (add the cue) 3. Generalization (proof the behavior) 4. Maintenance (maintain the behavior) Edit to clarify: 1. This is FREE for you to use/make copies of for clients, but not the edit. 2. As taught by Jean Donaldson refers to Push, Stick, Drop Thanks for all the support!
Just like the supermodels in the 90s who wouldn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000, make sure that the reward your dog is working for is worth their effort. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CMrwE_DhaCi/

As 2020 winds down, I’m grateful to have had the opportunities we did to chalk up a few more accomplishments to Team Glitch’s resume. The list is much longer than I anticipated when our world changed back in March. We shot our first film, got our Senior Dock Diving title, became the first Canadian GSD to earn a DMWYD Triple Crown, earned a first place in our regional SDDA Elite Boneyard Challenge, and cracked the top ten Elite SDDA dogs list in Canada. I’m super proud of my girl and love all the things we do together. But remember, winning isn’t everything; wanting to win is. Whether it’s teaching your dog to sit or earning titles, the journey with your dog is yours and yours alone. And any step you take on that journey is a victory.
2020 has been a tough year for many of us to trial our dogs. To all the trial organizers, judges, and evaluators out there who have gone above and beyond to give us the opportunities to play safely, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Working Dog Wednesday: movie dog edition. I’m super excited that tonight we will be attending a sneak peek of the film we shot with Glitch in March. I couldn’t be more proud to have been part of a film driven by a majority female cast and crew.
Super excited for another opportunity to trial this year!!!
Always learning! From womb to working dog, we do what’s best for our puppies!
Good luck, competitors! See you at the Canine Coaching trial today.
As an instructor there’s nothing quite like seeing your students succeed. It’s an amazing feeling to see all of their hard work pay off. Congratulations to everyone’s successes and new titles at the Canine Coaching trial today!
