It's never too soon to look forward to summer and camping season! This fire poker was a fun project for a client who enjoys a good pun as much as I do. Made mostly from mild steel, with a stainless basket handle, and measuring 36" in length, this should make a great little camping companion. Photo credit to Jenny Stowe.
Playing with fire.. aka getting rid of clinkers. Gotta make sure the forge is burning nice and clean. Or at least clean for coal Workspace at Les Forges de Montreal, and photo credit to Jenny Stowe.
Brushing the scale off this twisted rod to give it a nice, clean finish. There's something magical to me about glowing steel, and my thanks go to Jenny Stowe for capturing it so well!
Happy new years one and all! Behold Snake-beast in it's finished form! It's now ready to head west to join Big Flakes. Photos thanks to Jenny Stowe, who did a vastly superior job than I would have behind the lens. Also, after a lot of behind the scenes work, I'm proud to announce that I have a fully functional website now. So come check me out at http://alloyforge.ca
Sometimes, you get coal for being a good boy throughout the year!
So close I can taste it! Just a last couple finishing touches, then a good polish and a clear coat. The mic has a workable range of about 10" centered on the client's height. It's been a challenging, but rewarding and enjoyable build, and I can't wait to see it finished completely and up on stage!
