Breaking ground for the new building. What an amazing day. The rain held until we were done. Visiting, laughing, celebrating with our partners, a Territorial... Acknowledgement, Prayers and a Blessing with a surprise visit from Bishop Susan Bell. These are the only pics I took but there were tons of people taking them so more will surface. This is the first church plant in probably more than 20 years within the diocese, but definitely longer than that in downtown Hamilton. Friends, one of our St. Francis Fair partners, Ralphy's Retreat is in desperate need of clean towels and blankets for the farm animals. These are animals that were once kept as pets and abandoned or mistreated. All Saints has an agreement with a local used goods store to take the blankets and towels they cannot resell, due to stains or holes. This keeps them out of the landfill and provides warmth and nesting materials for the farm animals as they live out the rest of their ...lives in the sanctuary. Unfortunately, the store has been unable to respond to our regular pick-ups that keep Ralphy's supplied due to the fact that this is their busy time (and we are dealing with a different person now who is less sympathetic to the cause.) If you have clean towels and blankets and would like to donate to a true cause that redeems the suffering of animals at human hands, could you please bring them to the church? PM me and I will arrange for someone to be there. It's ok if the products are worn or have holes. No sheets please as they get wrapped around the feet and legs of the animals. Please talk about this with friends/family who may be planning to change up their blankets for the coming winter and share this post as there are currently NO warm blankets at the farm to help the animals nest. This is an urgent situation. Skipper was rescued from starvation in 2010. He was full of infection, with abscesses bursting out all over his body :( Benny was literally pulled off a meat truck heading to Mexico from Ohio in 2012. He joined our family in 2013.
