A quick note to all folks attempting to navigate wedding (or non-wedding or postponed wedding or elopement) plans throughout this pandemic : I have no printing minimums! If you’re going to get hitched this year in front of your nearest & dearest or your bubble of 10, we can still make special stationery happen. Or maybe just a save the *new* date or a whoops dang here’s the new plan announcement in the meantime? You dream it, we print it! PS this is a big sneaky peeky of something I’ve been working on behind the scenes: semi-custom invite templates! More on that one day but for now let’s all ogle at this colour of green which I cannot get enough of lately.

Super excited to take part in the Night Market and Celebration at The Cotton Factory 5 year bash this weekend! Not only will a version of this very cool short film by @derekbjenkins of me printing be screening on loop (it’s real film that he shot and developed!), my studio will also be open where I’ll be doing a letterpress demo in collaboration with the NuSteel bunch and Laine from Smokestack down the hall - print party! Come explore the building ( there’ll be art, food, installations, music, performance +++ !!) and make a print!!

It was an extra special and fun treat to make these thank yous for my longtime pals J&M ! Three colour illustration + design printed on a double thick duplexed Speckletone paper. Took a zillion photos but managed to narrow it down to 4 here for ya. More work like this pleease!

Way behind on the FB posts here (follow me on Instagram for more current posts!) but wanted to share this poster project from a few weeks back! -- Finished up a run of big posters this week for @terralightfoot and her @longestroadshow tour! This was a biggie - two layer screen print (thanks to @lainegroeneweg at @smokestack.studio ) with letterpress type overtop. Linocut/illustration by @pearljunior . Put a printing vid in the comments below of me using the big old Vandercook at @centre3_ to print the type. Giant thanks to Terra & @sonicunyonrecords ! Sooo funnnnn.

Had the pleasure of working with filmmaker Derek Jenkins on this very fun project. Derek made a film featuring printed ephemera from an old wallet and in lieu of a traditional credit sequence on screen, he opted for this tangible keepsake for the viewers. We designed it to mimic the look of one of the original pieces featured in the film (which would have also been printed with letterpress in it’s day!) Second photo is the original card :) ! Very fun, very cool! Thank you Derek!

Had these beauty invites on press last week for J&V featuring a nice soft grey-brown ink combined with blind impression details on pearl white cotton paper. Lovely design by @tombroadhurstdesign ! Can’t get enough of that blind hit knock-out.

Minimal wedding invites on a beautiful handmade paper which was a total POOFY DREAM to print on. Handmade paper can be finicky and unpredictable but this St. Armand from Montreal made the job easy . Thank you J+A!

Printed some big posters for @nickwallacelive which will serve as signage for his @supercrawl performance this weekend! We went with muted colours on a rough Manila paper to get that old-timey playbill vibe. Excited to see these on display Saturday (and to see the card trick)!

Wowee, here's a doozy of a job I worked on last month: custom double-sided 2 colour biz cards, silver and black on a hefty black stock with a tight registration and two rounded corners to finish! Huge thanks to DJ MARK for trusting me and my clanky old press to execute his design and for being down to push the limits!

I've got some posters featured in this year's Ting Comic & Graphic Arts Festival at The ARTS Project in London, ON. Show runs from April 17-May 5, opening reception tonight 6-8! See ya there London!

Friends ! I've been following the production of this film for two years now and am super pumped to share that it's coming to Hamilton, the Canadian debut! I'll be participating in a discussion panel alongside a few other local printers, getting nerdy about our love for letterpress. Huge thanks to Blindpigpress, Mixed Media Hamilton and Workers Arts & Heritage Centre for facilitating this screening. This will be real good, don't miss it!

Throwback to this invite suite I printed back in the spring - black ink on hefty double thick cotton paper duplexed to a light grey stock with a subtle blind impression. This was a fun one! Thanks Lee+Dave!

This seaweed print finally done! Two layer reduction linocut print on off white recycled paper, 12.5x9.5". Colour schemes are hard and I could have thought on this one forever, ended up going bright + wacky with multiple split fountain/rainbow rolls. Super thrilled to share these invites I printed recently, illustrated and designed incredibly by the groom. This design really makes an amazing use of letterpress with the 2 colour blue/red overlay to create a third darker maroon colour, the negative space knockouts, and the charming loose registration. Also cannot get over the adorable canoe proposal and cute pup detail! This one really had the print nerd in me swooning. Thanks again for the fun job M&I! New print! This one's been a long time coming, just in time for Hamilton FLEA (VOL.3)! tomorrow! Two-colour reduction lino-cut print on Speckletone paper. Bonus: this design is also a pattern, meaning it's wallpaper-able! (more on that to come soon) :D
