It would be really cool if people would consider cardio exercise as more than simply a way to burn calories. Want more pliable blood vessels that can react to changing stressors more effectively? Cardio Want to improve your work output before fatigue? Cardio... Want to train your abs as a function of breathing with an increased tidal volume and respiration rate? Cardio Want to produce a dopaminic response that can have positive effects on mood. Cardio Want to engage in some form of relatively easy and technically simple activity that can help sedentary people not feel intimidated to start exercising? Cardio Want to improve oxygen delivery capability through your blood, increase mitochondrial density in skeletal muscle, and burn through more glucose and glycogenic fuel stores effectively and relatively quickly? Cardio If you are looking to burn calories through exercise, want something that can burn a few hundred within a workout? Cardio There's a ton of benefits to doing some form of aerobic or anaerobic conditioning work outside of burning calories, so including it with your resistance training can help you get all the benefits possible. This is why Martial Arts is especially beneficial to be taught to children, most ideally at a very young age so that the values and character will be instilled in them early on.
