Did you know that our Claxton Christmas Cakes can be used to make wonderful cookies? Here is the recipe! Thanks you Civitan Sharon! 1 white cake mix 1/3 cup canola oil 1 Claxton fruit cake in bite size chunks 2 eggs... 2 tsp rum In large bowl combine cake mix, oil, eggs and rum. Stir well then add cake chunks. Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 for 12 to 15 minutes. Message me to order yours today!

During Apple Pie and Apple Crisp Days at the Almonte Community Hall, the Tupperware representative gifted the members with tupperware containers and various tokens of appreciation from local merchants to thank the volunteers for the work they do in supporting our community. We wish to thank-you for your kind thoughts and appreciation. Proceeds from Civitan projects such as Pie Days go to support various community needs. Thanks to your support, the Almonte Civitan was recently able to provide some limited financial support to the bursary winners from Almonte District High School and Notre Dame High School, Home Hospice North Lanark, Mississippi Mills Youth Centre and a family in need. Although limited in what the club can do, please look for upcoming news of projects and continue to help support our community.

Thanksgiving is over and we wish to thank everyone who purchased a pie or crisp. The fundraiser was a tremendous success. Thank you.

As we continue to keep each other safe, at this time, we are unable to book any hall rentals and our Events Center remains closed. The medical loan cupboard remains operational and arrangements to borrow equipment can be made by calling the hall at 613 256 6234. We are working hard to get as many events back up and running as possible with all safety measures in place. Currently our apple pie and apple crisp fundraiser is currently happening. Just in Time for Thanksgiving Almonte Civitans are happy to be get back to work - we don’t relish loafing around! Our Apple Pie and Apple Crisp project held in October is one event we can get back to immediately and one that traditionally will put money back into our community. We have a great team of Civitan volunteers and friends who will again be making excellent pies and crisps following all the necessary Covid-19 health guidelines. ...
