I know a lot of you are really eager to see me, but the instructions we received last week from the CMTO about returning to work were not straightforward. We were told to return gradually. We were told to prioritize urgent cases. We were told that in order to proceed with treatment, the risks of a patient not receiving massage therapy should outweigh the risks associated with COVID infection. As well, there is a list of new regulations we must follow, including therapist and... patient BOTH wearing masks throughout the appointment, and assessing the wellness of clients in the days leading up to their appointment and on the day of the appointment. With all of that being considered, I’m not ready to start working again yet. I’m going to do my best to prepare for our eventual reopening; I want us all to be safe. New RMT alert! We are excited to be welcoming Tara Sproule to Aloft on Tuesdays, and eventually Mondays. Tara and Maureen first met in 2003 at RMT school, and are both pretty excited to be reunited! Hop over to our booking site to have a look at Tara’s info and check her availability.

When these beautiful zinnias from my yard start to look a little crispy around the edges I know we are at that point when everything changes. Again. Especially this year, things have been so challenging and it all just keeps coming. These are the times when I know I need to prioritize myself and yet it’s so difficult to do. So here is your reminder: reach for that support. Massage Therapy and Osteopathy are two ways you can put compassion for yourself at the centre of your life, and it doesn’t need to take more than an hour of your time. Think about putting yourself first for a few moments. We are here. We promise to send you away feeling cared for.

The College of Naturopaths of Ontario is encouraging NDs to continue virtual care whenever possible but Madeleine is able to see patients for acupuncture or when an in person appointment is warranted.
